This was our first time visiting Peter Street Kitchen but probably our last. The food was actually delicious but we were almost completely ignored by the staff in the restaurant. We had to ask 3 times for water on our table, drinks took over half an hour, we waited so long in between courses (we had the 5 course tasting menu) that I actually didn’t eat the last two courses as I had lost my appetite by this time. We were the last table in the restaurant despite our table being at 8.30 and plenty of other tables arrived after us and left before us. We were a table of 4. It was nearly midnight by the time we had finished our last dish which was a shame because we had wanted to see more of Manchester!

Lovely setting, super service. We ordered calamari (little pieces), lobster tacos (chopped), fish tacos (small pieces), guacamole (heavy on the lime juice), beef tenderloin skewers (which was tender), tempura prawns (juicy and hot). We just found the prices somewhat steep… ie £18 for x3 little lobster tacos, £16 for a glass of Chardonnay; I suppose you’re paying for the ambience, still inflated prices though. Can’t fault the service though, the staff were fabulous.

Well worth the money. It's expensive but it's one of the few places where you get what you pay for. The food is outstanding, the staff is knowledgeable and soooo helpful and go above and beyond. The listen to their customers and know what to recommend but will also make their Owen personal suggestions. Can't fault the place

Came for omakase experience, 6 course tasting menu. Food was ok, but for the price I wasn't super impressed. One course was tempura prawns which were nice but not exactly 'tasting menu' food, you can get that anywhere. Quite an expensive restaurant for what it is. They also had techno playing in the background which was strange.

My son had always raved about this place and I had often gifted him vouchers. I tried it with a colleague and can see why. It is absolutely top class. We plumped for the Omakase tasting menu which was absolutely excellent - 6 quality dishes of larger than expected portion size. Great restaurant in a fabulous historic building sympathetically adapted as restaurant, good ambience, music a tad too loud for my taste but didn't detract from a marvellous dining experience.
