   We booked Pez Coastal Kitchen for a birthday, first visit. Waited for hostess to appear for about 5 minutes- she arrived, we were greeted and seated, the table had a nice birthday card on it. The ambience and decor of the space are very nice, especially the lighting and green scale tile wall. Unfortunately, the wait staff was terrible throughout - with the exception of the water boy. The first words out of our waiters mouth when he arrived to the table were “ Are you ready to order?” . No Good Evening, Welcome to Pez. No Hello, my name is…, is this your fist time dining with us? No, I see it’s someone’s birthday, happy birthday! No explanation of the daily specials or Fish of the Day. ( We had to ask) Just no service skills once so over. For a fine dining restaurant - inexcusable. We ordered 3 appetizers, the ceviche - best dish of night) , the black muscles- a mediocre dish did not seem super fresh, and the crab cakes (average). The ceviche was to be out first because it was a cold dish - a suggestion the waiter made - and said he’d bring out the hit appetizers when we were done with the cold ceviche to have the hot appetizers together. We agreed. Well, the ceviche came out first, but a couple minutes later so did the hot dishes so throw food service timing out the window. The hot dishes got cold because we were still on the ceviche. We had to request NOT to put in our entrees for fear of having 5 dishes on the table. Not once did the waiter ask- how’s the food? Can I get you anything? I literally had to call someone out and ask if there was a bus boy in the restaurant to take dishes away. Waiter finally appears “are you ready for your main course?” We replied “Yes” and he was gone for the rest of the night. Food came, Cioppino and Scallops. The Chioppino was “ok” and the scallops were average. The risotto over salted. Next time we saw waiter he cleared dishes and brought check. Wait! We want birthday dessert! Too late.🙁We will not return to Pez.

   The bar screwed up 3 of our drinks. Simple martinis. The waitress said the food was family style but the portions were 6oz. Very expensive for a 6 ounce pork chop.

   Loved the seafood. Splurged and got the seafood tower. Loved it. One note to be aware of: I generally like spicy food, but the aguachiles was a bit past my comfort level, so be aware of that.

   Service was outstanding, the food was delicious with each plate perfectly crafted. The atmosphere was very relaxing.

   Great spot for a weekend brunch. Fresh seafood and wonderful service from Madison. Playlist also on point. Will definitely be back!

   We were a table of 4 for brunch and the place wasn’t so busy, but there was some sort of a timing problem about getting our main courses at the same time on the table. I got my selection when the others were almost finished with theirs. Our waitress Michelle was very attentive and tried to solve the problem. The kitchen, other then delaying my food, did accommodate my wish for just a green salad for starter which was not on the menu. You don’t get that everywhere. All and all it was a good experience. We shall try it for dinner sometime.
