Lovely brunch at Poppy & Seed. Server was lovely. Ambiance was lovely. Food overall was excellent. The Hash Loaf was disappointing - grey inside - not good. But otherwise great and we'd definitely return.

I LOVE Poppy & Seed. The staff are friendly & helpful; the ambiance is pretty and garden-like; and the food is really elevated. Poppy & Seed has personality, a soul. So many OC restaurants have good, solid food, but like OC itself, they feel a bit soul-less; they feel manufactured. And that is how Poppy & Seed standouts from the typical upscale, nice OC restaurant; Poppy & Seed has a story to tell thru their food...and it's somewhere between stunning and mesmerising.

For the first time since we have been going to this restaurant, we found the food to be highly uneven when it came to the tasting menu. The opening courses were home runs. By the time the smoked duck came around, I found that this dish was very out of balance with teeth melting spices in the greens overwhelming the subtlety of the duck. Unfortunately given the substantial price of the menu in comparison to other nearby Friday night hangouts, it just did not live up to the bill. Maybe next time.

What an amazing experience we had at Poppy & Seed. Our server, Caleb was on point with his suggestions, and so was the kitchen, and bar. The Short ribs, shrimp and grits, and the Waffle and chicken were delightful. The cocktails and mocktail were unique and innovative. We highly recommend this great find to everyone interested in a great dining experience.

Amazing food! We got seated at the back corner of the “garden patio” at a very isolated table that was being lit by a nearby street lamp. That table shouldn’t even be a seating option. The food was incredible, but the table was a big let down.

We LOVE Poppy & Seed. We often venture to LA for dinners, so it’s nice to have a local restaurant that has equally great food, service and ambiance - P&S is that restaurant. Food is deliciously prepared, cocktails are interestingly varied, ambiance is casually beautiful, service is prompt and friendly. Tonight, we had bone marrow, the lamb shank and the gelato & waffle. The gelato is house made and was perfectly just-sweet enough for my adult palate. It was a perfect meal in a great setting. Love this place; it’s a perfect date night go-to.

We had reservations but still has to wait almost an hour. I ordered the vegetarian menu but they brought meat dishes most of the time.
