Prairie Star Restaurant and Wine Bar at Santa Ana Golf Club has offered an unforgettable dining experience since 1986. Housed in a renovated 100 year-old adobe ranch house, the warmth and intimacy of Prairie Star is intoxicating. You may absorb the NM Territorial atmosphere of handmade adobe walls, kiva fireplaces and full viga and latilla ceilings while enjoying awe-inspiring and sweeping views of the golf course and the Sandia Mountains.

Our culinary team masterfully creates stunning Contemporary New American cuisine with global influences and Executive Chef Myles Lucero changes our menu seasonally to reflect the time and freshest ingredients at hand. Each dish is carefully crafted from the finest ingredients, locally sourced when possible, and organic, sustainable and fair trade items preferred.

Prairie Star serves prix fixe menus on major holidays, and you can find details at prairiestarrestaurant.com. We are closed Christmas Day and New Years Day.

Our facility is acclaimed for hosting tasteful events from social parties, corporate retreats, to wedding ceremonies and receptions. We can accommodate 170 guests indoors and our outdoor location can host up to 400 guests. The menu packages start at $32 per person. We can book events 7 days a week, breakfast, lunch or dinner--plated or buffet.

Prairie Star has a small private dining room for intimate gatherings or meetings and will delight in crafting just the perfect menu, assisting in the selection of the right wines and creating the magical ambiance for each occasion. We were seated in a small room with a beautiful view of the mountains. The waitress behind us was talking a lot and her voice really carried... But otherwise it was a very intimate dining room. The steak was a little tough and overcooked. But it still tasted good. My partner's food was delicious and the rest of my meal was very good.

Amazing as always and Francesca is about as good as they come. She is our favorite waitress, so personable and makes us feel special every time. Bravo to Chef Miles and all the staff. Our favorite restaurant in Albuquerque by far.

We went to the bat before dinner for a drink and Avery was our bartender she is very sweet and made us some delicious drinks. We found out that she would also be our waitress we opted to change tables to stay in the bar area. The food and drinks were delicious. We will be back .

Starters were excellent. The steak had an overwhelming smoky taste to it. The sides were good.

We arrived for the special Thanksgiving menu close to the last seating and that may account for the very dismal state of the food. The first side had been on the warming table much too long and was crisp beyond edible. When the waitress saw that I hadn't eaten it, instead of apologizing, she told me to not worry, that all sides were actually free and that I was only paying $80 for the entree. Somehow this did not appease me, it just made me think she took me to be an idiot. The other sides were nice, and the entree was fine, just not anywhere near worth $80! None of the diners at our table were as impressed with this four course meal as the menu led us to believe we would be getting. It was pretty pedestrian. We had to ask for bread. We had to ask to have the unused wine glasses taken away. We had to ask to have our water refilled. We won't be back to the Prairie Star. We had been hoping to find a new gem for dining but were very disappointed.

Our decor does seem muted, but we think suitable for a Native American-owned, renovated 100-year old adobe ranch house. We do have new dining chairs on the way, and probably new flooring, and should provide a needed freshening of the decor! We hope you will plan to return soon and thank you again.

We enjoyed an exquisite thanksgiving meal. The view is spectacular, the restaurant cozy, and the food was delicious and creative. I especially enjoyed the fried sage and the red chile caramel which accompanied the pecan pie.
