Chef Mathew Peters, the first American to win the prestigious Bocuse d'Or in 2017, is bringing his culinary expertise to the heart of Austin with the opening of Prelude, an elevated cocktail bar and canapé lounge set in a historic home in West Austin. The space has a beautiful back lawn lounge with views of downtown Austin and private rooms throughout the house that can accommodate groups of 6-18 with private events options of groups up to 120 guests.

Prelude will offer a unique Austin experience, combining innovative cocktail creations with elevated small bites. The menu will feature a curated selection of small plates, designed to complement the bar programs signature cocktails and highlight Chef Peters' culinary artistry. Please note that our kitchen closes each evening at 10 pm.

Join Prélude during Happy Hour Tuesday-Thursday from 4-6 pm for $2 oysters and drink specials.

Come ring in the New Year with us as we celebrate throughout the house with live music, casino games, raffles, passed food, and NYE cocktails. All ticket holders will get access beginning at 9 pm. Each ticket includes 4 NYE Cocktails, Passed food all night, PLUS Live Music , Casino Games Around the House, & Raffles! Each guest will receive 4 gold playing cards to redeem with your server or at the bar in exchange for a cocktail. Additional bottle service, drinks, and food will be available to purchase. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. GUESTS MUST BE 21+

Incredible service, cocktails, and the delicious food from Matt and his team... can't with to see what is in store with Maven! Prelude is a must try! I'm certain they will gain attention from Michelin in the near future!

Prelude is the perfect destination for any occasion—whether you're celebrating something special, catching up with friends, or simply looking to enjoy a delicious drink in a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere. We sampled the tartare and the ponzu, and both dishes were great, full of fresh flavours, Prelude is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Had a cozy and wonderful time at Prelude. The drinks, the vibe, the food was a 10/10. I highly recommend a date here.

3rd time here. Always great to grab a drink and a bite. Outdoor section is nicely winterized. Only lament was that the Masa Gougeres were a bit overdone (could tell from the color alone and then taste) + they weren’t discreetly and carefully glued down to that Donnie Darko plate like the other times. Key lime on those still the best part. Slight drop in standards on that one - hopefully one off. But generally great vibes still. 10/10 recommend.

Love, love, love!!! So cozy and amazing! Drinks are creative and delicious and so are the appetizers. Entire staff is happy to be there!

Absolutely loved trying Prèlude for the first time! From our initial arrival and interaction with the sweet hostess, to our conversations with the bartenders/mixologists who patiently answered all our questions, to the stunning interior design and ambiance… this was a stand-out high end cocktail experience and we look forward to returning!
