Primavera has known many lives as both restaurant and residence. Originally built by a member of the Purdy family, one of the original settlers in the area, it was also known as the 1864 House, so named for its date of construction. Although the building has been renovated several times, the bones of the house are still recognizable, especially as one looks up to the charming garret, whose flat roof, sometimes called a widow’s walk, often served as an observation platform.

Mona Trattoria, a family-operated Italian restaurant that operated for some 30 years, followed after the home was converted to a restaurant. In 2002, actor Stanley Tucci bought it and renamed it Finch Tavern, renovating it with dark wood shutters and soft yellow banquettes that feel fresh today. In 2006, Jimmy Gjevukaj and his family took over the premises and relaunched the restaurant as Primavera, continuing the tradition of fine Italian dining in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Food was average at best. Was annoying because it was a preset menu for Valentine’s Day so you would’ve thought the few options would all be great. Maybe it’s better here when it’s not special events.

It was a busy Valentines Day so the staff was stretched thin, but they did a good job taking care of us. The food was good except the calamari was not cooked enough. We plan to return on a less busy night to check it out.

I will not go here again on Valentine's Day. They brought in so many 2 person tables and packed the room. There was barely room to stand up between the tables. We easily talked with the people next to us, it was so close. My husband's pasta entree had the same exact sauce as the appetizer he had. The servers were overworked trying to match dinners with customers. The couple next to us, who had arrived before us, somehow got out of the queue and had to ask about their dinners since many couples who had arrived after them were eating. We arrived after them and got our dinners way before them. When they finally got their dinners, one of them was the wrong dinner. The food was okay, not as good as usual at this restaurant. We had been here before and enjoyed it. Valentine's Day was not the night to be there.

It was Valentine’s Day so they had a special menu with good selections. It was app, dinner and desert at a set price. Quickly seated excellent service. Tables were a little tight which was due to so many couples. Everything was very good

Lovely dinner with very attentive, smiling staff. We both had a difficult time ordering since everything sounded so good. I think their fish abs seafood dishes are excellent

Always a great experience. Staff is polite and professional. Food is always delicious and the menu has so much to choose from. Specials are also always updated. Cocktails are spectacular with a large choice of wines. Jimmy the manager and his son do a great job of keeping the customers happy.

We have eaten at this restaurant several times and the food has always been excellent… Of course New Year’s Eve. It was busier so Service and noise level were higher than usual but overall this restaurant is a five star.

We went here on New Year’s Eve. The place was completely full and the tables were turning over very quickly. The restaurant was fully staffed and handled the influx of people remarkably well. The food was great.
