There’s no better way to cap off your evening than with a craft cocktail at the Punch Room, a modern reincarnation of London’s 19th-century private clubs. Designed to be an intimate space away from the Soho crowds, the bar boasts 20 specialty punches – including the signature Milk Punch. A curated soundtrack of soul, blues, ragtime and doo-wop is complemented by impromptu live performances.

The latest menu, LIGHTS plays on the aforementioned element and the effect it has on visible objects. Split into three chapters: Opaque, Translucent and Transparent, this menu aims to break preconceived ideas of flavour, taste, and texture as guests experience an interactive service as the cocktails are finished at the table.

Very disappointing experience. We arrived slightly early for our booking and discovered a private event was going on in the bar and we were told we couldn’t come in. Assuming it must be finishing before our booking (30 mins later) I asked if we could be accommodated before that for a drink elsewhere. Staff shrugged their shoulders and said they didn’t know. After asking at the front desk and trying to find something we were eventually able to sit in the restaurant bar where you wait to be seated. We were promised the first round of drinks free but when we came to pay they claimed to know nothing about this. In the restaurant bar it took over 20 mins to get a menu, bar snacks we ordered had to be chased and took over 45 mins to arrive. Also note - I booked a week in advance and I confirmed my booking the day before we came. Nobody tried to call me from the bar to let me know they could not honour our booking. Having travelled over an hour to the location this was extremely disappointing. Having eaten at the restaurant numerous times and recommended the hotel and restaurant to visitors to London I don’t think I will ever go back after this disappointing experience.

Creative and fabulous drinks with top notch service from the friendly bartenders! The fireplace in the main room was also very cozy.
