Queen Violet is a modern Asian fusion restaurant in an unique European style building with a beautiful floral courtyard. Most of our dishes are inspired by Chef Sara Thongchoet. We also offer traditional Thai and Chinese recipes that make you feel at home. Chef Sara created her own recipes from her apartment in 2010 by cooking for her family and friends. Everyone loved her food, and her friends brought more friends! She quickly realized that the groups have gotten too big for her apartment. This moment of inspiration sparked her passion and her soul to become a chef. Chef Sara finally made “Queen Violet” happen in the heart of WeHo!
So why the name “Queen Violet”?
-Queen? We playfully imagine our customers to be Queen Bees returning to their hive (our restaurant).
-Violet? In Thailand, violet is the color of the LGBTQ, not the rainbow. So, we chose violet to represent our support for the LGBTQ community.

We went at around 5pm before a show and it was dead at that point, we were the only ones there! We noticed that it normally gets busy later at night, but with how empty it was it definitely wasn’t a representation of this places service and food! We had the sweetest server and we will definitely be back!

All of the dishes we ordered were fantastic! The tuna tar tar, the egg rolls for starts were some of the best I have ever had. The main dishes of drunken shrimp, the steam fish filet with ginger and salmon fried rice were outstanding. We finished up the meal with the banana fosters which was terrific.

This was our first time dining at Queen Violet. We had seen the restaurant on L.A Unscripted and the decor really caught our attention. Honestly it did not disappoint. We had a great experience, food was great and very affordable, the mimosas were on point and out server Antonio was very attentive, he made great menu suggestions. We are definitely going back. Thank you Queen Violet and thank you Antonio for such a great dining experience.

The food was delicious, service was good, and ambiance was great! This is my second time here and will definitely come again. Enjoyed it so much the first time, I decided to bring my family here to celebrate my mother’s birthday. They loved it!

Food was excellent! I had a reservation and had to wait 20min for my table to be ready. Also, service was slow. I told the restaurant when I made the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. We did not get offered any free dessert until I requested it. Also, when I ask if there was dessert for the birthday guest the server said no and offered me a menu. I ask another server and ice cream and a candle was brought to the table.
