The distinctive décor featuring rough-hewn beams, antique farm equipment, and walls covered in Basin Harbor nostalgia makes The Red Mill Restaurant a resort favorite. The renovated sawmill features the best fresh and local food ingredients, along with signature Vermont brews, including our own Red Chair Ale. It is a casual dining experience you will appreciate.

And where else in VT can you fly in for a burger? Our grass airstrip is a great destination for small planes. The Red Mill also has an enormous outdoor play structure, guaranteed to provide hours of fun for the younger crowd…Just another reason we are family approved! Tax and service is additional.     Potatoes were cool and wrong salad was delivered. Cocktail came with main course. Too noisy. If not the only place openon Monday i would not go.

    We had a great time at the Red Mill with our (mostly well behaved) kids. We sat at a high top - watched a football game and enjoyed the food. Service and other patrons were quite friendly. Will come back.

    We love the Red Mill Restaurant!! Food is excellent, reasonably priced, bartender, waitstaff and manager are so very friendly and kind making for a very favorable dining experience- we really enjoyed our dinner both on Friday and again Sunday evening this past weekend.

    Basin Harbor is a beautiful spot to spend an evening! The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The meal felt a bit rushed. We'd barely started our cocktails when the salads arrived. Main dishes arrived before we'd eaten a third of our salads. We were planning on a leisurely dinner, but I think we were out of there in under an hour. Overall the food was very good. The kale salad is heavy on the kale and needs more dressing - which our server suggested without my asking. The only real disappointment was the chimichurri steak sauce. Very bland. I only tasted parsley and oil.

    We had lunch and dinner here. The food was ok. For dinner, I had fish and chips, which was a bit on the greasy side but ok. For lunch, I had a beet salad which was very good, along with a local cider. The best thing about this place is that there is a playground directly outside so kids can run around. Highly recommend for families with young children. Not really a “date night” place.

    The quality of the food has declined significantly in the last two years. We came back to the restaurant specifically because we had had such a great experience in the past. The current menu is far different and seems to be more institutional. This is probably because it is part of the Basin Harbor inclusive package. Our previous visit, the menu was more sophisticated, and the food was delicious. A real disappointment, I would not return.
