    I REALLY wanted to have a great dining experience, I’ve always had good food and service. I went tonight for my birthday, reservation at 6:30 pm. Service was slow, I think they were busy. I had the tomato basil soup, which was tasty, however it was room temperature to cool. House salad was meh. I got the prosciutto wrapped chicken for the entree. Our server did mention it would take 20-25 minutes to prepare, it took closer to 35 minutes and it quickly became apparent why - it was severely overcooked. Prosciutto was burned, and the chicken was beyond dry. My husband had the ribeye, it was tough and rather flavorless. Our server did graciously comp my entree and also provided a discount on my husband’s entree. I appreciate the effort to make it right, but I’m just so bummed that my last meal at this historically fantastic restaurant was mediocre 😔

    I requested a booth for 2 in a low traffic area so that we could really just enjoy one another. Our table was exactly as I hoped and the staff had it nicely set up with some “happy birthday” touches that made us feel important. My only complaint was that our waiter seemed to rush us. Brought complimentary dessert to the table before one of us was finished with our entree. Brought the dessert menu before one of us was done with our entree and the complimentary ice cream was gone. We could just tell they wanted to turn our table over for the next party but we were trying to enjoy our one meal out on the town without our kids while we had childcare arranged which is a rare occurrence plus we were celebrating! The food was perfectly delicious.

    Richards has been one of the greatest restaurants in Boise for 8 yrs. If you haven't tries you are only weeks away until it changes ownership. don't miss your opportunity.

    Lovely dining experience in a great setting. Generous portions of delicious food, relaxed but knowledgable and polished service and an “off the beaten path” wine list that was reasonably priced and nicely poured. Lively for a Thursday night but still able to carry on a conversation without raised voices. Beautifully done all around

    Great service and food. Happy that Richard is able to retire but will miss his influence in the Boise community, and his tomato basil soup, which is iconic!
