The Riding House Café is an all-day, fun and informal neighbourhood brasserie situated amidst Fitzrovia's creative and media community, split across a variety of areas to eat, drink, meet and socialise. A bustling canteen, more formal dining room and a relaxed lounge are all joined together by the large dining bar and open kitchen.     Allow us to take the hard work out of Christmas Day by joining us at Riding House Fitzrovia. We will be serving a decadent tasting menu featuring truffled baked taleggio, artichoke dip and beetroot-cured gravadlax to start. For the main event, choose between a traditional turkey roast, whole miso-grilled bass or our signature vegan Wellington. It wouldn't be the big day without a cheese board and a slice of our yule log, though we also have a show-stopping black forest pavlova, coconut cream to finish. The starters, cheese & desserts are served to share. All guests need to choose their individual main course. Pre-order is required.

    Dinner with 4 friends, sat on the left inside, behind the welcome desk, looked like the dining section. Food was great (had halloumi skewers with side of lentils, very tasty). Great desserts too. The place was packed (xmas time). Friendly staff,

    Staff are lovely and very attentive. The atmosphere was great but sadly the food completely let the whole experience down. I had the full English breakfast but the scrambled eggs were absolutely tasteless, the black pudding cold, the baked beans were BBQ flavour which were too artificial for my taste but the worst thing was the chargrilled sourdough which gave such an overwhelming barbecued flavour to the whole breakfast that it was difficult to taste anything else. I think they’ve attempted to fancy up a classic and sadly missed the mark on all sides.

    Always loved the Riding House, but left a little bit disappointed this time. We were rushed off our table for another booking, even though we’d only had it for 1 hour 15 and we had a two hour allocation. The hollandaise sauce was also very vinegary.

    Food was good my sister had the full English and this looked great however my side never came and I had the mushrooms on ciabatta and the portion size was very small so ended up ordering a second dish. Drinks were slow these only came half way through food service. However it is a nice place and food was good.

    Wouldn’t choose to come here at Christmas The serving staff where very distracted. Initially very welcoming. Wrong bottle of wine came to the table, then the mains arrived before we’d finished our starters. Quite rudely told that we had 5 mins to finish our coffee as the table was needed and we overstayed the allotted 90 minutes which was incorrect as the table was advertised by Open table for a 2 hour slot. I wouldn’t have booked here for just 90 minutes. We were then over charged as another waiter had mistakenly added coffee to our table after the initial bill was delivered. The waiter who told us to leave wouldn’t have it that they’d made a mistake until I showed the bill she’d given us originally was a bit huffy over the changes The owner manger came over was very apologetic and immediately refunded the service charge without being asked which was much appreciated. Another waiter then came with our amended bill and then tried to imply it was all our fault. Sad end to what was a celebration for each of us. The food was amazing and in a quieter time would be better appreciated. Got home and found I’d lost my glasses. One friend mislaid her scarf and the other had difficulty with the trains Just one of those days!

We’re truly sorry to hear about the issues you encountered, from the mix-up with the wine and timing of your meals to the confusion about your booking duration. We do have a 90-minute limit on breakfast and lunch bookings and a 2-hour limit but for dinner bookings, which is clearly stated on OpenTable, and we apologise for any miscommunication. We regret the overcharge and the way it was handled, though we’re glad the manager was able to resolve it. We also understand how frustrating it must have been with the misplaced items.
