Great bar and cocktail menu. Great outside seating. Ample parking. A great spot just outside the hamlet of Oyster Bay.

I cannot say enough about The River Road American Bistro. Every bite was a delight to my palate. The chef started our meal by sending out an amuse-bouche which was a demitasse half-filled with gazpacho and a slice of Bavarian pretzel on the side. It was the pure essence of a summer tomato. Delishish!!! With every course, dinner only got better. Was the best meal my husband and I have had out in years.

The food was very good and the servers were very friendly and attentive, even though it was a busy night. Definitely will be a return customer.

Had an amazing meal here. Creative cocktails that were out of this world. We were a little slow making our dinner selections but the server couldn't be nicer and more patient. Food was outstanding. Perhaps the best pork chop I have had in five years. Décor is really hip, warm and welcoming. Excellent looking bar in the center of the room makes a very cool statement. Highly recommend. We will be back.

The front patio is a lovely place to dine. The service is excellent. But..... the food has room for improvement. The salmon was overcooked, and the crab cakes were meaty but bland. The proteins could be served with more than a dab of this and a bit of that. If the seasoning and servings are amped up a bit, this will be an amazing restaurant.

River Road provides a quaint, inviting atmosphere. The food is amazing and Veronica cares about everyone’s experience. We’re having our baby shower there in the fall, and we look forward to eating here for years to come!

I have eaten at many places where Micheal Meehan has cooked and I don't really think that Michael Meehan is in the kitchen. To start the place was empty on a Thursday night at 8pm. We ordered a specialty martini on the menu and they said they didn't have the vodka. The appetizer of mussels was decent but beyond small and had no juice in the bottom of the pot. Is that possible. The seafood salad had shrimp that were literally cut in half and drenched in olive oil. Heres the clincher. Salmon over caesar salad-could barley taste the dressing if any and the salmon BURNT to a crisp I mean char-broiled. Meat loaf two small slivers the size of a palm and potatoes ice cold on bottom almost like it was a TV dinner. I have never posted a bad review but this is well deserving of one if in fact Micheal Meehan is in that kitchen. Didn't have dessert. Service was fine but there are bunch of college kids basically running it and with no adults that at least we could see.
