Van de OpenTable-redactie: James Beard semifinalist Randy Rucker and his wife-partner Amanda Rucker opened this American gem in 2019 dedicated to spotlighting seasonal ingredients from the region. The intimate dining room feels like an extension of the open kitchen, where a four-course menu changes constantly, from sweet amalia oysters with buttermilk ponzu & trout roe to smoked steelhead trout with maple, celeriac & agretti. The results landed River Twice on the New York Times's list of the best Philadelphia restaurants.

Our goal is to encourage a sincere connection to the Delaware River Valley and mid-Atlantic region through the ingredients we select and the dishes we serve. A close relationship with local purveyors allows us to develop an evolving menu, making every visit a unique experience.

Please note, the chefs counter is counter-height seating. Dietary restrictions must be noted ahead of booking, we are unable to accommodate vegan, dairy free or allium requests.

alleen 23 apr 2025Please join us as we welcome Chef Eric Leveillee of Lacroix for our Hidden in Plain Sight Dinner Series. Chef Leveillee and Chef Rucker will collaborate on a special seven course menu priced at $125 a person. Beverages, including a curated pairing will be available to purchase in house. Chef Eric Leveillee began his cooking career with Jennifer Zavala at El Camino Real before moving on to work at Vernick Food & Drink with James Beard Award winner Chef Greg Vernick. He eventually went to run the kitchen at Marigold, as well as at The DeBruce, which during his tenure was a semifinalist for Outstanding Restaurant by the James Beard Foundation. He went on to take a position at the iconic Lacroix at The Rittenhouse Hotel. While running the kitchen at Lacroix, the hotel was awarded five stars by Forbes Travel Guide, the hotel was awarded one Michelin Key by the Michelin Guide, the restaurant was named #19 on Philadelphia’s top 50 restaurants, and named as one of the “ten restaurants that defined Philadelphia dining in 2024” by Resy.
