I don't like to write reviews however tonight's highly advertised anniversary event was horrible. We let the not having our drinks on tap and telling us 20 minutes after we had put our order in that you also ran out of the appetizer go. Recommending the advertised 50 cent wings in place of what you ran out of yet charged us full price on the wings (which we inquired about when we first got there but was told the special didn't apply to us) we let that go. The not telling us the specials of the night was fine too, no biggie. Waiting 20 minutes for our drinks to come out and having to ask another waitress for condiments since our waitress never came back was even pretty annoying but again fine.(They weren't even busy!!!) What sealed the deal was receiving cold food that didn't even taste good. The fried chicken dish had zero flavor that ketchup and maple syrup couldn't even fix. The beans tasted as if they came out of a can and was left in the fridge. The dish was hardly touched and the waitress could tell something was wrong. The burger was burnt when asked for medium but yet cold when it came out. (How does that even happen????) The fries were also cold. It seemed as though our food sat in the back for a good while. We were charged for the app they didnt even have that we didnt get. Such a waste of money. Oh and if you go during this anniversary special... The highly advertised mystery bag that everyone that dines gets to pick from... we had to ask for it and only one of us got to pick from it. Others who came in and ate didn't get to do this so be sure to ask for it before you leave if you decide to go. I would not recommend wasting money on this place. Not worth it at all.

Love this spot for so many reasons: delicious food (to please many tastes), great wine and beer list, pleasant and accommodating staff, and warm yet modern decor.

The food was good but the service was very slow. No one took our order for a long time. We were given free salads and a cheese board because the kitchen was so long. In delivering . We were full before our medals came. Waitress was very nice. Some computer problem? Need more help in the kitchen? The good was very good and do I'd give it another try.

Looked up local restaurants and this one came up. Decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed. We will be heading back soon with a group of friends!

We have returned to Robert's Block several times. The food is always good, the service is pleasant. It's a great casual night out.

Had the salmon , beans and potatoes excellent, salmon super salty, and I can eat just about anything. 2 other in our group had the shrimp/sausage entrée, both were so-so about it, both commented on saltiness of sausage overpowering the dish. however, one in our group had the chorizo burger-said it was outstanding, and the entire table loved the apps. we had the flatbread and the octopus. I would go again, would try other dishes, but would get the same apps. definitely like the atmosphere, the building, the location.

Our meal at Roberts Block was good and our server was friendly. I personally liked the location being a train enthusiast as it was situated right across from the Glenside train station. I was able to watch trains come and go during our meal. The only negative points with this restaurant were I feel was an unusually long wait to receive our meal(nearly an hour). I also think our server could have been a little more attentive but She was pleasant and apologized for the wait and that was completely acceptable. Overall not a bad experience and we will most likely frequent Robert's Block again.
