Set in a former Georgian townhouse on Kensington High Street, the newly renovated Romulo Café and Restaurant is a neighbourhood restaurant that offers delightful Filipino cuisine in a vibrant, chic atmosphere.

Complementing the new interiors is a fresh menu that balances all the exciting favourites and signature creations such as Tito Greg’s Kare-Kare, Chicken and Pork Adobo “Romulo Style’ but in a more pared down form.

Inspired by the famed Carlos P. Romulo and run by his family, this highly commended restaurant offers traditional recipes with an innovative touch. Vegetarians will find much to tickle their palates, such as the Young Jackfruit and Coconut Stew.

We foi d the food very tasty; the place very clean and well maintained and the service dedicated. Very nice surprise and it felt as the positive reviews we read about Romulo prior to booking . A place to visit. I’ll go again to confirm the first time..

The range of food on the menu was good and plenty of choices. What is not mentioned is that you can have any of the foods on the 'platitos' menu as a main course dish. All the food we ordered was well seasoned and tasted great. All in all will look forward to dining here again in the future.

We had to wait for our table and they brought us complimentary drinks and made us very comfortable while we waited. A real class act. We'd always loved the place. Our laat visit sealed the deal.

We were rushed in and out all within 45 minutes so it didn’t feel like a comfortable setting. The food was good and worth revisiting but perhaps not as a date or special occasion setting.

We have always liked Romulo. I’ve taken most of my friends who are not filipino. Some are Italian chef, Thai chef and Malaysian chef. They all have their opinion at fine finding Filipino food. Very different to Earl’s Court restaurant experience and the Supperclub experience. In the past I have plenty of excellent dining experience at this restaurant, I’ve started boasting to my friends of how good the food here. Although in the recent times, the quality of food has been a bit of a let down. For my recent visit of me and my partner, even himself have criticised how the quality of food is changed (or maybe the chef was just having a tough shift). The BRAISED GRASS FED BRITISH RIB OF BEEF (CRISPY BEEF TADYANG) was very tough to bite into and the meat was dry. On the other hand LOLA VIRGINA’S CHICKEN RELLENO was very dry, we didn’t even touch the chicken. We did mention to our waiter the matter. Apart from all of this the MILKFISH (BANGUS) AL AJILLO was a delight. Exquisite! My partner told me that maybe I am bias as ‘Bangus’ (milkfish) is my ultimate favourite fish. We would like to come back to Romulo and have the same experience with food like we did in the past. It is a brilliant restaurant and the food had been fine dining.
