Van de OpenTable-redactie: Van de drie restaurants van Ori en Genevieve Menashe is Saffy's het gemoedelijkst, maar het blijft toch scherp gericht op techniek. Geniet van deelbare gerechten zoals houtgestookte shoarma van lams- en rundvlees, spiesjes van gegrilde kreeftenstaart en 18 uur gekruide short rib. En dit alles in een prachtige eetzaal die een eerbetoon is aan het Marokko uit het midden van de vorige eeuw. Speelse cocktails en een mediterraan georiënteerde wijnkaart dragen bij aan de altijd levendige sfeer.

    What terrible experience we had yesterday ! Firstly we pull up at valet and it costs $13 but the guy running the parking told me he wanted $30 or he wouldn’t park my car 😅 said it’s to busy and my truck is to big Evan though I’ve parked many time before and never been charged that , big hustle . Then we had to wait 45 minutes for a table we booked at 9.15pm . They sit us down and the server ask me my order so I start by ordering 1 humus and 2 lobster sticks I go onto order the shawarma plate and am told they are out of shawarma Evan though we can clearly see there’s a huge amount left on the spit . So I go ahead to order the saffys kebab plate and lamb chops but are told no it’s all sold out to 😅 So I told the waitress to cancel the the starters as there really isnt anything for us to order for mains so before u put the order In we would like to cancel . She was such an airhead and said wait a minute let me check with kitchen about shawarma for u . Before I knew it she turns up with the appetizers Evan though I asked not to put the order in and said sorry no shawarma lol walks off then comes back 13 minutes later and sees we haven’t eaten a thing and says would u like me to wrap those up to go for u 😂😡 so we said yes and left with out eating a thing and a $150 bill for somthing we didn’t want . Absolutely terrible service and u ruined our night . Staff need to be trained better on how to deal with customers especially as we are not rude in the slightest and were treated like crap . Such a bad experience and am very upset by the outcome .

    This was our first time and Saffy’s did not disappoint. My boyfriend said it was one of the best restaurants i’ve taken him to in LA. We were both very impressed. The hummus full was our favorite dish. It was so good we asked for extra challah to enjoy every last bit of hummus. We also really enjoyed the gem salad, and celery root dish. Honestly the appetizers were all really good. 2-3 appetizers is the perfect amount for a party of 2… To be honest, the skewers were just okay at 2 skewers for $40… The lamb and pork skewer was mid and the beef shishlik skewer was delicious but small. I wouldn’t get the skewers again.. i’d try some other man entree dish next time but the appetizers were absolutely amazing!!

    Saffy is undeniably a well-run establishment with a clear sense of professionalism. However, the overall experience is somewhat marred by the palpable emphasis on table turnover. The rushed pace—exemplified by the urgency to take orders, the swift clearing of plates, and a subtle push for alcohol—feels at odds with the ambiance one might expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The subtle disapproval directed at requests for tap water further detracts from the experience and leaves an impression of upselling rather than genuine hospitality. Given that Saffy is not a budget-friendly dining option, one expects an environment conducive to relaxation and leisure, not one that feels hurried or transactional. While the food and operation are commendable, the apparent prioritization of maximizing turnover over customer comfort is a significant drawback, and one that would likely dissuade me from returning.
