We ate the best meal in Salt Lake City we've had in years this Friday night at SAOLA. I eat Thai food once a week at some great restaurants, but I've never had Thai food elevated to the level it was at SAOLA. We had mussel shooters, papaya shrimp salad, Kobe beef skewers, Peking duck, Thai iced tea, and 2 desserts. Everything was seasoned and spiced delicately. Well thought out menu that they don't just throw heat at to cover quality issues like some Thai places do. Extremely impressed, will be eating there more often and referring it to others.

The restaurant has a nice location with the mountains as a backdrop. The food is very tasty and service was great. We were only one of three tables there so there was no noise and food came out quickly. It is a bit pricey for the dinners so take that into consideration.

Thought they tried to do too many different types of cuisines. The food is expensive and the quality and taste didn’t match the price

This place has great atmosphere and excellent food quality. Their only flaw is serving cold food. The food does not come out hot. In the restaurant industry, “hot food, hot “is a priority. We were the only table besides a large group. Hopefully they can work on this. Also, their drinks taste flat like they are from a soda gun and not a fountain. Service is very attentive.

I am not a reviewer of places. I don’t do this, however SAOLA was phenomenal on every level and it must be stated! We tried the thai basil mango shrimp from the small plates menu and then ordered two entrees, the salmon & the filet mignon, to split. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection! I would eat the filet mignon for breakfast, it was so delicious. Our server Boon was attentive and not overbearing and I already can’t wait to come back!

Excellent dinner and service, as always. A little quieter than usual with many people out of town for the Labor Day weekend.
