   Wonderful as usual! We've been coming to the Shelburne for a few years now and have never had anything but a great experience - food, drinks, and atmosphere are all perfect. Looking forward to many more return trips!

   Pub was nice, beautiful interior. Was hoping they had my fave liquor, but didn’t. My salmon was excellent. My friend’s (2) steak bites were unsatisfactory. They had an odd consistency, tasted very ‘fishy’ and smelled a bit spoiled. She couldn’t eat her dinner. Was sorry for this experience.

   The decor was nice, pretty old hotel, we chose to dine here because of positive reviews. Unfortunately, that's where the positivity ended for us, I'm not a complainer and I've very rarely had a restaurant experience this poor. We booked for New Year's and the website offered a toast for all at New Year's ET (9pm) no one told the waitstaff though and that was not offered. Out of 7 entrees on their menu they were out of 5 so we had our choice of only 2 entrees. I understand restaurants can run out of an item but this was pretty ridiculous. We were not told this until after we ordered and opened our wine or we would have left. Our appetizer was served at the same time as our dinner- so crammed on a little table were our clams and entrees, no room even for a shell bowl. The clams were ok, not great. Sourdough bread for dipping in the clam sauce was not included and was $7 for 4 small pieces. We both had the rockfish, heavy breading but ok. An extra small tartar is $1 each. The restaurant is small and it was towards the end of the evening, the waitstaff was talking loudly across the bar with each other about closing duties, tipping out staff, and other restaurant business which just took away from the old-world charming ambiance we had hoped for on a nice night out.

   Dear Jennifer, our deepest apologies for your experience on New Year's Eve. That was one of our busiest nights/weeks of the season and by that time in the evening, regrettably, we had run out of items. That was far from our intent for guest experience. We were short staffed in the kitchen, and that had far reaching effects on the customer experience and quality of service. I am sorry about that. The servers have been reminded that consummate professionalism is required (even when extremely busy) to keep the guest experience positive. I would invite you to join us another time, so that you could have the lovely dining experience that you had hoped for. Once again, my apologies for your less than perfect experience.    We had a child with us so they sat us in the lobby (of all places) despite having lots of open tables in the bar (where other children were) or the other dining room. It was extremely quiet and felt like an awkward family dinner. Food was mediocre at best. Coconut Calamari was terrible. Hostess had a very unpleasant perfume that filled the air and just topped off the entire experience as a no-go ever again. I’ve been coming to Long Beach for 45 years and had never been to the Shelburne and after all this time it was very disappointing when I finally did.

   Hello Chris, We apologize that your visit was not what you expected. We have addressed some of the things that you brought up, and I'm so sorry that you were so disappointed. I understand that scents can offset one's dining experience, that has been resolved with our staff. And the calamari was take off your bill. We apologize that you did not like that item. Families with children are always sat in our parlor as we preserve the bar atmosphere for those over 21. I'm sorry that did not feel like a nice place to be. We had reservations for all of the other tables at that time. Our sincerest apologies that you did not enjoy your visit to our restaurant.

   Our server was the best and she made a very good old fashion. My wife and I has clams toast and a salad. The clams were perfect the toast was a bit overpriced but excellent with the clams. The salad was fresh and covered with candy nuts. We enjoyed every bit of our Christmas Eve dinner. Thank you

   My daughter and I had a delightful, tasteful dining experience. This was our first time here. We loved everything, decor, lighting, music, food, and staff. We hope to return again.☺️☺️☺️

   You go to Shelburne Pub for the atmosphere and experience. It likely won't be your fastest meal--especially if it gets busy--but drinking and dining in the oldest operating hotel in Washington is absolutely worth it. As part of the Adrift group, the menu and food preparation are exceptional. The staff are lovely and the drinks well-made. And dining in the almost 130 year old building is worth the visit, alone. Admittedly, the Shelburne is a personal favorite. But if any of this sounds intriguing, then you should make a point of stopping in.

    Beautiful old building with stained glass. Food was ok, and prices were decent. Steak didn’t have a lot of flavor (salt & pepper helped), chicken sandwich was large with a lot of slaw. We didn’t try the desserts but they looked good.
