Serving a seasonally rotating menu of Central and South Indian street food, Sherkaan combines the authentic flavors of India with contemporary cooking practices and everyday ingredients.

While our energetic space evokes the feel of old-world, urban India, our hope is that our modern plates and craft cocktails breathe new life into the country's diverse and flavorful cuisine. By removing some of the unfamiliarity associated with Indian food, we hope to create a fun, relaxed environment for all to enjoy!

The food was excellent (especially the rosemary apricot naan and the goat curry) and brought out very quickly however, our server barely came to our table, never asked how we liked our food or if we wanted more drinks. It also took over a half hour from the time we asked for our check to the time it was dropped which was not ideal. I was there before Covid and had absolutely stellar service that was as excellent as the food. Hopefully next time I will have a better experience with a different server

There are only two restaurants that I will eat outside now and Sherkaan is one of them. The tables are properly spaced, paper menus, wrapped silverware, always gloves and masked servers. The food and drinks are always inventive. Rose lemonade!! Fabulous okra crisps shrimp, chicken rice. All done to perfection. Can’t wait to return.

I had been wanting to go for a while but we live far away. Today coming home from a weekend away we decided to drive through New Haven. We were looking for vegetarian / vegan food and remembered Sherkaan. Given the pandemic, we haven’t eaten out much but this was the perfect experience for the moment, and would have been outside of pandemic times as well. We ate out under the pergola and the service was wonderful. Positive, attentive, discreet, and informative. We ordered a large selection of Street food dishes and chaat — too large given the generosity of the portions. Our server helpfully packaged up two of them before we even finished eating at our request. The ambiance was great — it was safe and fun. We would definitely come again to try more dishes and the extensive cocktail list. Sherkaan is a totally winner!

OMG. That Dal Makhani is really special. Breads and Chole also excellent. Cocktails are dee-lightful. We had SUPER CoViD-careful service when we dined July 2nd. Much appreciated the care and attention to detail (single use menus, gloves and masks, tables sprayed and wiped after each dining group, plenty of pleasant outside seating.) The cardamom ice cream dessert with salted caramel was awfully good, and we'll try the chocolate dosa next time. . . Not cheap, but very good value for the money. Highly recommend.

My Bf is a chef and he was blown away by the taste and how full of flavor each dish was. Everything was phenomenal!
