Experience the best of Shimogamo with our Omakase menu, which means “leave it up to you”. Our expert staff will curate a menu, tailored to your preferences and dietary restrictions. Please note that this is not a customly created chef's tasting course, but rather a compilation of our existing menu and specials of the day. Designed for sharing, this menu is perfect for groups of two or more and requires a minimum of two guests. To ensure availability, reservations are required. The Omakase menu is priced per person and excludes tax and gratuity. Beverages are not included in the course but can be added at an additional cost. Please allow approximately two hours for a party of two, and three hours or more for larger groups.

The food is always authentic Japanese. We sat at the bar and ate even though we had reservations at a table. It was great talking to the bartenders. The restaurant's fish is fresh and delicious, but the side dishes are absolutely delectable. The agedashi tofu has the best broth that I have tasted in AZ. It's a bit expensive but worth the cost of the meal.

My wife, and our son and his girlfriend, had dinner at Shimogamo Chandler to celebrate our son’s first job. For the first time, we ate at a table, instead of at the sushi counter. Our server, Micah, was terrific. She clearly knew the restaurant, the menu, the food and the drinks. We started with an excellent sake, Ippongi Daiichi Gitai, that was presented by the bar manager, Matt. We ordered a huge assortment of mostly nigiri sushi; Madai (Sea Bream), Mejina (Opaleye Nigiri), Kamasu (Barracuda Nigiri), Kinmedai (Goldeneye Snapper), Aji (Jack Mackerel), Umi Masu (Ocean Trout), Hotate (Sea Scallop), Anago (Sea Eel), Ama Ebi (Sweet Shrimp), Baja Uni (Sea Urchin Sashimi), Santa Barbara Uni (Sea Urchin Gunkan). Micah had the chefs course our fish selections perfectly. After the sushi, we had the Hatcho Miso Duck, Yuzu Mushroom and Fried Shishito Peppers. For dessert, my son and I tried the Harvest in Uji and Matcha Hai cocktails. Everything we had to eat and drink was delicious. If I had known that they had Kakigori (Japanese Shave Ice) for dessert, I would have saved room for it. That’s one more reason to return for another meal, I guess.

Very nice restaurant. Quality of the ingredients eas excellent. The cooked dishes were great. However the nigiri fell apart as soon as we picked it up-rice as too loose and not well prepared. Service was a bit slow. If I am in the area I might go again but would not make a special trip.

Shimogamo is hands down the best sushi in AZ. The ambiance paired with the service is top notch. The food and menu are next level. Fresh fish, authentic menu and friendly staff. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Grace is the most amazing server. She’s very knowledgeable and all of her recommendations were delicious! Love all the staff at the Chandler location. My favorite local date night spot.

Had high expectations for our dinner and left very impressed. We were there right at 5 o’clock on a friday and they were filling up quickly. Our server greeted us in a timely manner and took the time to walk us through all of the options. He clearly knew his stuff. It looked like he started getting a little overwhelmed, but they didn’t miss a beat and another waitress came over and took care of us right away from then on out. Food was fantastic, there’s so much more we want to go back and try!

Shimogamo's is a great place to eat. It's authentic Japanese food and the flavors are robust, while understated. We like the sashimi, as well as the cold and hot dishes available. The age dashi dofu is our favorite.
