I went twice before I wrote this review. The food is really great especially the hummus and cacik. The tomato salad was large and nice. Loved the sea bass and the braised lamb. That said we were Unable to reach anyone at the restaurant when we called to find out if there are heat lamps (there are) or indoor seating area (there is). The ritz operator could not answer any of our questions and could not connect us to the restaurant. The service was really slow and there is only one waiter (who was great) for the whole restaurant it seemed. It took 20 mins twice to get a drink. Lastly both times I went it was at least $150 per person. Food is good but won’t be going back again.

I wish it had been a better experience, but it was a mess beginning with the host’s desire to seat us in a remote location in a near empty restaurant when we arrived to exceptionally slow service. It took over 30 minutes just to get our cocktails (the server did comp them for us when the drinks finally arrived). It took over 2 hours (most of it waiting) to eat an uncomplicated meal. Ugh. The food was well-prepared and tasty, but there are many restaurants that offer well-prepared, tasty food along with good service.

We decided on lunch at Sofra and came away disappointed. The surprise was that at lunch the menu consists of mostly comfort food, with very little Turkish or multi-cultural flavors. The same food can be found at any good diner. There were no tablecloths, waitress forgot about my beer, and the decor was very plebeian. The open air ambience is very casual and not equal to a high-end Ritz experience. The management needs to clarify that the lunchtime menu is very ordinary and not a special treat of any kind.

Delicious dinner. We started with the tzatiki that was out of this world. Best Ive ever had. Also had the octopus which I loved. Didn’t like the artichokes they were too sweet for me but my friend did like them. The braised lamb was fantastic. Will definitely be going back.

Our server Elliot was phenomenal!!! Impeccable service from Elliot and the rest of the staff. The food was so delicious. We will be back on a regular basis.

It was a quiet pre holiday night at the Ritz. We had excellent service from Joseph. He was attentive and made great recommendations. We tried several appetizers and shared entrees so everyone got a sampling of this delicious Turkish food. I have been to this restaurant a dozen times. It does not disappoint. The vibe in the bar area and outside area is better than the indoor dining.
