Solea offers diners a taste of the culinary heritage of Spain right in the heart of Moody Street. Since opening our doors in 2001, we’ve made it our mission to give the Metro West area a reason to look forward to sunset every day of the week. Solea offers an array of Spanish tapas, four types of paella as well as house made churros. We make all sangria in house and offer either by the glass or by the pitcher. Stop by to try our Gambas al Ajillo!

Solea is located in downtown Waltham, MA. We are in the heart of Waltham's restaurant row. City parking lots and street parking are readily available. Solea is close to both Bentley and Brandeis Universities. We are at the corner of Moody and Cushing Streets. We are 4 blocks from the Fitchburg Rail Line.

Perfect place for our group of six. Excellent seating so we could talk and catch up. Service was attentive and let us talk. Drinks and food came quickly. We overstayed our time and closed the place because we were having so much fun. They were very kind and let us stay past closing

We looked forward to what used to be a very pleasant dinner. Unfurtunately,, Solea has changed. We had a 5:30 reservation, not a busy time, as the room was empty except for 2 other small tables. The waiter was friendly. However, he was the only waiter for a large room, certainly not enough servers. We ordered and all the veggie dishes cane out quickly. Then we waited over half an hour for any protein dishes (lamb, salmon, shrimp) and were not hot. One of our veggie dishes was never served at all, and the waiter was very dimissive of not making sure that everything ordered was actually deliverd. The food was not remarkable. Sadly, we will not be going back.

We have been to Solea several times over the years, and always enjoy the experience. Our group of four shared several small plates, all of which were excellent: chorizo, potatoes, spinach, olives, and cauliflower. The complementary bread with chickpea spread was also delicious. We also shared the seafood paella, which was a bit disappointing as it lacked flavor, and the squid in it was rather tough. We loved the churros and the vanilla flan for dessert. Service was excellent, our waiter was very pleasant and attentive, and once we ordered, food and beverages were served promptly. Other servers brought extra plates, napkins, and flatware without being asked, which we really appreciated. The sangria was delicious, as always. Definitely recommend Solea.

Not as good as it used to be. Asparagus woody stems not removed. Ceviche was bland. Needed a “kick “. Service disorganized. Paella was still yummy however
