Soothr, properly pronounced “Sood” is the Thai word meaning “Recipe”. This East Village establishment is the vision of close friends who grew up in different regions of Thailand, hoping to share their experiences and recipes with the rest of the world. Raised in distinctive regional cities, each individual brings their own unique relationship with Thai cuisine, with a specific focus on the generational family recipes that have shaped their childhood and time growing up in Thailand. With a specialty in family noodle recipes from throughout Thailand, Soothr offers a culinary experience that is geared towards the comfort and warmth of dining at home. These traditional recipes have brought great comfort and a sense of home for generations, and Soothr at its core is an invitation to sit at the table and enjoy a classic, Thai family meal.

The service isn’t great. The only reason I went back was the food. I had a 9:30 reservation and my server took 10 mins to come to our table and take our order. Never came back to check on us and when I finally got her attention, I asked for a Diet Coke she said they are closed and checked her watch. She ended up bringing it but if I’m waiting for service and she didn’t come by it’s not my fault she came after closing to check on our table.

Horrible service. Rude stewardess. Wasn’t willing to talk about the dishes and was acting irritable when we asked questions about dishes. The food was pretty average.

They gave me an allergic reaction after I SPECIFICALLY told them about my allergies twice and asked them to double check, as well as asked when they brought the food out.

We arrived at 6 PM for a party of four to celebrate a birthday, but unfortunately, it felt like we were rushed the entire time. From the moment we sat down, we were pressured to order drinks, appetizers, and our main courses. While our server was friendly, they were incredibly insistent on getting our order in quickly. Once we placed our order, the food arrived within just five minutes. We started with appetizers, but before we could even finish them, the main entrees showed up, leaving us with all the food at once spread across the table. It really took away from the enjoyment of the meal and the birthday celebration. By 7 PM, we were finished and felt so rushed that we didn’t even want to bother with a birthday cake or dessert. It wasn’t the experience we were hoping for at all!

Food is great, service is great. However our reservation was at 6.00 and appetisers and main courses arrived at 6.12. Felt rushed.

The food is delicious, and the waiter's service is also very good. Next time, I will recommend others to go with me.

The food was good but we had to wait in the cold until 9:35 when our reservation was for 9pm. No one apologized or acknowledged the wait.
