   A ver underwhelming experience at Squires. We booked there for our 10 year anniversary dinner specifically because of the view of the opera house. On arriving we saw there was a huge cruise liner blocking the entire view - no fault of the restaurant but no prior warning on this and no effort made to offer a different table which could have had a different view. Just note to others that the view could easily be blocked if you happen to have a cruise ship in on the day you go. They also do not allow corkage at all and so we didn’t get to drink the lovely special bottle of wine we had brought we ended up ordering wine from the menu and were given the wrong wines. The food is expensive and honestly I have had much better quality for less cost. All side orders are also charged separately and are huge portions - if you get a steak and side note you can definitely share sides. We got sides each of sweet potato fries which were nice but we left half the plate, and broccoli side which is a whole head of broccoli (I don’t know anyone who would eat even a half head of broccoli to themselves?) - also do not recommend this side unless you want a raw head of broccoli with slight chargrill outside. Unfortunately not a place I will feel the need to return to. If you happen to be there and there are no cruise liners I do recommend for a drink or small bite to eat at the bar downstairs but the upstairs restaurant honestly give it a miss.

   We thought we would have to order salads and entrees but turns out the three salads sharing between the three of us was perfect. Great beer too!

   The view was great - I was pleasantly surprised by the table we got because based on the online reservation that I had tried to book but couldn't, I wasn't expecting a table by the window, let alone in the rotunda. Even the docked cruise ship still allowed us a beautiful view of the Opera House and the Bridge. We were disappointed when only one entree came out shortly after our beginners, but the other 2 entrees seems to take quite a bit longer.

   We had a Birthday and everything was delicious and we where looked after our waitress was lovely and the view was amazing

   Wonderful food, atmosphere and views are specular. Such a great location in the heart of Sydney. Thank you for making our first experience a memorable one. Will be coming to dine again! ☺️

   We were disappointed with the service. They brought out a dish we didn’t order, and when one of the waitresses came over to remove it, she did so angrily, as if it was our fault for the mistake. We confronted her, but she was rude and unapologetic. We also had to ask twice for a bottle of wine, which they forgot. When the main meal was served to all five of us, the entire team came out, making the situation awkward as though we were special guests. Once again, they gave us the wrong meal — instead of half chicken, we received a whole chicken, and sweet potato chips we hadn’t ordered. They just couldn’t get it right. Additionally, the boat was docked, so there wasn’t much of a view. Overall, it wasn’t worth it, and we have no plans to return.

   Extremely disappointing experience. The service was dreadful. I had to request drinks multiple times before they came to my table so I ended going to the bar & ordering them myself. The Murray Cod at $62.00 was like shoe leather. It was embarrassing to show case Sydney to my first time Australian visitors with this restaurant experience. The best thing about this restaurant was the view but you can get that from many other excellent restaurants in Sydney, don't waste money here. Or order a burger downstairs as the upstairs restaurant isn't worth the money.
