Today I had the pleasure of dining at State Fare Memorial and tried their “Birria” Grilled Cheese – an absolute masterpiece! The combination of gooey cheese, perfectly toasted bread, and flavorful birria was out of this world. To top it all off, our waitress, Yara, made the experience unforgettable. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. The food was phenomenal, and the service was just as awesome. Can’t wait to come back for another bite!

We have always had great experiences. The Tea tasted soured like the pitchers were not cleaned properly. Ordered brisket poppers and they delivered shrimp poppers to the table. When replaced with the brisket the bacon was burned. After all of that I made sure when I ordered my meal making eye contact and speaking very clearly. I ordered the houston hot fried chicken sandwich. “no Onions”. My wife and son’s orders came out as ordered and mine had onions on it. When getting the check theirs was typed in correctly and mine was not. Supposedly the best server. We have always enjoyed State Fare but with all the competition around there is plenty more spots for us to select in the future.

Poor service, we waited around for our server with empty drinks constantly. It also took a long time to get our drinks. It wasn’t busy at all, maybe 25% of tables were full.

This place has fallen off a cliff. The food was ill prepared and the service was incompetent (in addition to blaming other employees for her mistakes). Clearly the word is out as it was basically a ghost town.

Had a small group luncheon at State Fare and very impressed with the service and delicious food. The restaurant was clean, and everyone was nice and accommodating.

I enjoyed both the atmosphere and service. Although I believe more attention should be payed to cleaning the floors around the tables between guests. I ordered the 'Flight' of Bloody Mary's. They were all four unimpressive and watery. I ordered the Queso Blanco for an appetizer. Although the Queso, Guac and Salsa were well made and delicious, the handmade chips were either stale or were not cooked long enough and desperately needed salt. For an entree I went with the Shrimp & Grits. At $27 bucks I expected better. The bowl was tasty enough but the grits themselves were a bit lumpy/congieled and I would have preferred a more serious sear on the shrimp in this Cajun Dish. Generally speaking, with the seemingly endless supply of places to 'Try Out' in the Houston Area, there was nothing here that would lure me back.
