Operating in the historic seaside village since 1973, Steak Loft in Olde Mistick Village, CT serves up the very freshest seafood and premium beef along with drinks and live entertainment. With a dining room and lounge area, everyone can take in the scenery while dining on truly delicious fare.



The menu options for the Steak Loft include lunch and dinner, but also the quick bites served up in the friendly lounge. A full-bar service allows guests to pair any meal with a cocktail or beer, yet it is also a very family friendly establishment. The main menu includes delicious fresh chowders and bisques, freshly prepared salads, steaks, ribs, chops and enormous seafood plates. The Steak Loft is also noted for its combinations of meat and seafood and the desserts are sinful and popular, especially the chocolate flour-less torte, and homemade bread pudding.

                                                                                                              I was so disappointed. The food was just ok. Nothing great or fabulous. As a whole all of our food was ok but that was it. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great. The app we got the was the steak crustini, that had more flavor than the steaks my husband and 2 kids got. For Drinks my husband got a beer on tap that he was happy with. Myself I got a Kentucky Mule, which wasn’t great. It was more soda than anything else. I normally will have more than one drink and I barely finished it. We had been to the Steak Loft a few months ago for a RePast. The food was amazing. So when we were back in the area we thought it would be nice to go for a happier occasion. Not sure if we would go back or not.

                                                                                                              The food was excellent and the price was fair. Our only issue was that there was an item on the menu that we were looking forward to ordering. It was potato au gratin. When we ordered it we were told that it’s on their menu but they never had it. If they don’t want to incur the expense of reprinting them, then they should cross that item off each menu.

                                                                                                              Our experience at Steak Loft was extremely disappointing. From start to finish, the service was abysmal, and the food quality was unacceptable. The salads were brought out dry, with no dressing, and there was no bread served initially. After waiting an unreasonable amount of time, we had to flag down the server to ask for more dressing, which never arrived. Eventually, we gave up and ate the dry salads. When the entrees finally came, the food was plated incorrectly, and we had to rearrange the meals ourselves. Three of us ordered steaks—two well-done and one medium—but all of them were served rare. Steak had to be sent back, and even on the second attempt, it was still undercooked. The waitress never checked back on us and seemed indifferent to our concerns. To make matters worse, we waited all evening to see Saxophone Santa, and just as he arrived at our table, the waitress chose that moment to interrupt us, talk unnecessarily, and drop plates and cutlery on the floor. She even placed trash from another table onto ours, which was incredibly unhygienic and off-putting. Adding insult to injury, the manager went to several other tables to field complaints but never came to ours, despite our multiple attempts to get her attention. The overall experience was a disaster—poor service, undercooked food, and a complete lack of professionalism. We won’t be returning. Rating: 1/5

                                                                                                              Dining at Steak Loft is always a hit, always consistent in it's food. The menu has lots of options for all with my personal favorite, steak teriyaki.

                                                                                                              The food and drinks were great. The waitress was good. Disappointed in hostess. We had reserved the reservation via website. Said our reservation was confirmed. When we got there we were overlooked by a few people without a reservation. Finally when we were greeted the hostess said our reservations were shut down and push to next day. She said no worries. I will seat you. We were out in a very dark/cold space against wall. I asked waitress for an extra candle because I couldn’t see the menu. It didn’t help. Then the hostess came over to say she removed my reservation that was pushed to next day. I said I wasn’t happy with our seats. We were finally moved. There were plenty of available seats. Why she chose to put us at that table in the first place is beyond me.
