Steuben’s is named after a restaurant in Boston that my Great Uncles, Max and Joe, opened in 1945. Steuben's became a famous Boston restaurant, nightclub, and hotspot from the 1940’s to the 1960’s on Boylston Street. The Vienna Room, The Cave, and The Blue Room were all part of the Steuben's space and hosted Big Band, Jazz, and Swing groups with The Rat Pack, proms and sweet sixteens, and more. In its prime, Steuben’s was the center of the Boston dining and nightlife scene.

From November 22nd to January 5th, we’ve transformed our enclosed and heated patio space into a cozy haven filled with vibrant holiday lights, cheerful decor, and the warm glow of childhood memories.                                                                                                           We had friends in from out of town and had high hopes for this place, all four of us ordered different things, and every Andrea was absolutely loaded with salt. LOADED. THE SERVICE IS GOOD, THE PEOPLE ARE NICE, BUT THEY NEED TO LIGHTEN UP ON THE SALT FOR SURE. DISAPPOINTING.

                                                                                                          Yes, I know, inflation and all that jazz... but if I spend $90 for a sandwich, a piece of salmon on a bed of chickpeas (who came up with this?) and a grilled cheese for a kid, plus a soda and a drink, I expect at least the food to be decent. Stale bread, taste is nothing to write home about. I mean, at least try, use some decent bread, that would make a huge difference. It's not like if you write "executive chef" on the menu and name drop Guy Fieri your food automatically becomes tasty. Also, I get it, we did not order at the same time, the food did not arrive at the same time... but I'd expect the person who ordered first to get it first? It sounds like your order management is a bit off. I like the place, I want to see it continue to succeed. They need small improvements, and if they don't make them, it's just out of laziness or incompetence. Chop chop

                                                                                                          It took over an hour from the time we sat down to get our food. Twenty minutes for drinks. The French onion soup was like liquid salt with flavorless cheese. Not a great experience.

                                                                                                          Originally we were looking for a 5:00 reservation time but the only time available was 4:45. Our question WHY WAS OVER HALF THE RESTAURANT EMPTY? The tables remained empty until we left at 7:30? Another question why when we showed up on time with all the empty tables why were we seated right by the side doors exposed to the cold? Very disappointing. Does Open Table pay attention to reservations? Or is the community that rude not to show up?
