Nana Araba Wilmot is the Chef and Owner of Georgina’s Private Chef and Catering Co. and Curator of Love That I Knead, a West African focused dinner series. Chef Nana’s Culinary focus is on foodways across the African Diaspora, using her dishes to explore her identity and help other “find their way back.” Spanning locations in Philadelphia, NYC, and Accra Ghana, her work has been featured in numerous publications including Bon Appetit, Forbes, New York Times, Eater and Eater NY. Most recently appeared on Food Network’s CHOPPED and featured in the recently released highly anticipated Cookbook “The Contemporary African Kitchen” by Alexander Smalls. Chef Nana is hosting a 3 - course tasting menu at Stir on December 20th

We had reservations for a birthday lunch and because we had the option to say it was a birthday celebration thought they would acknowledge it in some way. I had higher expectations. The service was mediocre, our server got the birthday persons drink order wrong twice and she wasn’t even apologetic. We will not return.

I ordered the trout. Received a very tiny piece of trout with a nice sauce sitting atop a tiny bit of greens. I had to ask twice for a roll. I was almost as hungry when I walked out as I was when I walked in. For $22 plus, they could have at least added some rice or a vegetable. Very disappointing.

It's a rare cafe that can create so many elegant vegetable forward dishes as well as an elevated burger, along with a spot on wine list and tasty cocktails.
