Van de OpenTable-redactie: Originally from Torreon, Mexico, Eater Austin’s 2018 chef of the year and 2024 James Beard semifinalist Fermín Núñez celebrates his passion for handmade masa at Suerte. It’s the foundation for tacos, tostadas, and more stuffed with everything from duck carnitas to goat barbacoa and drizzled with a host of salsas. True to laidback Austin, it’s all served in a space with light woods and exposed brick walls alongside plenty of mezcal cocktails and natural wine.

    Suadero tacos and ceviche were our favorites. Barabacoa was good with a large portion. Duck with mole was ok

    The decorations, the lighting, the service staff, the food, the drinks. All of it was so amazing, great choice for an intimate birthday dinner. Our server was so knowledgeable and gave great recommendations, I loved the sound of a full restaurant. Everyone was very polite and helpful, the food was perfection. the tres leches was so perfect. 5 stars, 10/10, would come back everyday

    This was our first visit to Suerte. This is more of a tapas restaurant. All items are meant to be shared and are small quantity . The flavors of the sauces are amazing and very unique . This is not Tex-Mex. Our waitress was not good at describing the food so it was more trial by error. We found the tacos and the Carne Asada to be fantastic entrées.  the sauce on the sweet potatoes was delicious. We had the chocolate taco and it was OK. Nothing special. Plan on $100 per person to sample the menu well.
