Located in the bustling River North dining scene, Sunda offers a vibrant Southeast Asian dining experience, blending the flavors of Japan, China, the Philippines, Thailand, and beyond. We elevate culturally significant dishes using high-quality ingredients and modern techniques. Our beverage program includes signature handcrafted cocktails, a robust sake and wine selection, and Asian whiskies and beers. Join us for weekend brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 2pm, or stop by during happy hour Monday to Friday from 4-6pm featuring $6 bar bites, handrolls, and beer, $9 cocktails and wine, and $10 sake. Our venue hosts private events for occasions from corporate outings to rehearsal dinners, and we also offer catering services.

Service was great. Food was excellent albeit egregiously over priced. But it’s unbelievably loud to the point of making conversation difficult. No need to blast music so loudly it’s not a nightclub

My fiancé and I celebrated our anniversary at Sunda and it exceeded all our expectations. The food and service was great! We ordered the chicken bao buns, pad Thai, and sushi. All of it was amazing and we will definitely be returning!

The restaurant is beautiful. Everything we had was amazing ! Shrimp appetizer was plenty to share and really great. The crab noodles could use some more crab but they were still very good !

I read other reviews about the noise level, but typical I don't mind and expect a lively place to be loud. But it was exceptionally loud... it must be the acoustics that just causes the voices to create a cacophony (I love that word but rarely get to use it so fittingly). After fifteen minutes we just settled into it, we weren't going to have a back and forth conversation. Really though, be prepared to shout or just mime your way through your evening. If your expectations are managed regarding noise levels, you'll enjoy this place. The ambience was very nice, modern and hip, the service was good. Our server neither ignored us or overly checked in. If we needed something, a simple look was all that was needed. Again, the noise level reduced the interaction we could have. The food was very good, with a wide variety to choose from. The lumpia egg rolls weren't our style, I'd skip that. The baked snow crab hand roll was devine!! That was one of our top bites. The adobo pork belly entree was good... it tasted more like a very tender pork chop than pork belly, which was a good thing. It could have used more seasoning though. Their non alcoholic cocktails were splendid. Very unique and fresh which is tough to find for mocktails. This was our first visit and while not the top of our food experiences in Chicago we will be back to try more! The menu is designed for sharing several plates. The benefit is you can order several items to try. The downside is the total for the bill may be more than you expect initially.
