Sunnys Chinese is inspired by high energy dining cultures found throughout China tied with the history of the space in Kensington Market - a place you discover with friends. It’s casual and cute—picture pastel-pink tiles, mint-green tables, and panda-shaped chopstick holders.     I celebrated New Year’s at Sunny’s Chinese in Kensington, and it was a truly lovely experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. The flavors were well-balanced, and the presentation was great. That said, I did feel that the menu leaned a bit heavily toward mushrooms, with fewer options in terms of protein or other flavor profiles. While I would have appreciated a bit more variety, I must say that everything we tasted was exquisite regardless. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, and I would definitely return. Sunny’s has a charming ambiance, and the food quality is undeniable. Looking forward to my next visit!

    The New Year's Eve experience at Sunny's was great! Ambience was festive and service was impeccable. Food was very good, and nicely planned for this type of evening. The one exception was the bone marrow/tofu dish, which did not have an appealing taste or consistency. Everything else was five out of five! This is our favourite place for a fun night out in our own neighbourhood and we'll be back soon.

    Went for NYE pre fix dinner. The service was slow (2 1/2 hours for a 4 course meal). Many of the dishes tasted the same or had minimal taste.

    We had New Year’s Eve dinner, I liked most of the food except the appetizers. I might revisit to have desserts. I was a bit disappointed when the waitress threw that thin cheap metal spoon into my friend’s bowl when she served the first round of a 4-course meal.

    I love how hidden the venue is. When you walk in, it almost feels like a speakeasy (it's not). The restaurant is very modern and new. I loved the open kitchen concept. As for the food, it was okay. I was surprised as it said Micheline star but the food was not outstanding, I would say average. Not excellent but not poor. For the price, I'm not sure if the value is there but it's a cool and hip new spot. Their cocktails are great and I love the tucked-away bar. On another note, I am impressed with the cleanliness of the washrooms. I believe someone frequently cleans the washroom because the toilet papers are folded and trash is emptied every few bits. Service was okay as well. I'll return for a cocktail and app but perhaps not a full dinner.

    I love sunny's chinese - food is incredible, with a unique menu with lots of fun options. the vibe inside the restaurant is great and generally pleasant vibes all around

    First visit to Sunnys and will definitely be back. Laid back casual dining room. Food was creative and uniquely spiced. All our dishes were outstanding; market fish sea bass, bok choy, orange chicken, Dan Dan noodle and Salt and Pepper Shrimp. Dorian our server was a 10 out of 10. Very engaged, knowledgeable and totally amped up our overall experience.
