The name TABERU comes from the japanese terminology 三大欲求・"Sandaiyokkyu" the "three major desires" which are said to be indispensable and key for our lives, and the main one being 食欲・"shokuyoku" which means to eat.
Our chefs are direct from Tokyo and have created a menu never seen in LA before! Our signature dish being YASAI MAKI which are fresh veggies wrapped in pork, beef and vegan options as well!

Reserved a birthday dinner here for 14 people and we were seated outside. The food was decent but service was really slow and all their patio heaters were broken. Luckily they offered to move us indoors but we were over half way done with our meal. Would recommend going with a smaller group and reserving a table indoors for dinner.

The food was excellent, however the experience was made amazing by our server, Savior. He was exceptional. We had friends in from Thailand and he asked how to speak some phrases in Thai! This was a great first impression for us and our guests. We will be back!

Delightful and thoughtful service. Food was delicious. These were interesting and creative takes on traditional Japanese comfort food. Will return again.

the foods are a full of originality, and everything was healthy and very delicious. Grilled skewers are no doubt. dessert plate with pudding and tiramisu was by far beyond our imagination and expectations. moreover, although it was Thursday early evening with least tables filled, the service was remarkable. it was my daughter’s birthday dinner and every staff is very welcoming and felt very happy and relaxed to enjoy the special occasion. Lastly, birthday song performance was incredibly great. it was an unforgettable experience at any cost. definitely my favorite list now by all means.

The makis are so fun to share, and the shochu caipirinha is a great homage to the Brazilian drink. Also, the service is always excellent!

I was shocked to see that our waiter, I believe his name was Ken, took back one of the skewers on our table after we had already been touching everything. Kinda of unsanitary if you ask me. They accidentally gave us an extra set of skewers which I thought they’d just give to us on the house, NOPE. I assume they gave these already touched and handled skewers to someone else because what was the point of taking it back. I overall liked the concept and atmosphere of the restaurant, but not sure I’d go here again after that one mishap.
