Unless you are staying at the hotel then don’t bother. I have never been made to feel so unwelcome as a customer, although I believe it is mostly down to 1 or 2 wait staff. I had a reservation, and I told them straight away that I am not a guest of the hotel. I was told that I can pick a table and they will bring the menu. I sat down, and then I was brought some complimentary tortilla chips and dips. I started eating them while waiting for a menu. Then another larger dip arrived and I wasn’t sure at that point if it was meant for me so I tried to get someone’s attention and ask for a menu. At that point a different waitress came up to me, took the complimentary tacos and dips that I have already been eating and took them to the guests on the table next to me, WITHOUT SAYING A WORD. Then a different waitress came up and asked me to confirm my surname (assuming they thought I look like I might eat and not pay?!). Then I finally got the menu, and a minute later I got a new portion of complimentary tortilla chips and dips. Throughout the whole service the waitress looked at me like she was doing me a big favour. At the end of the meal, when I asked to pay by Apple pay, I was taken to a back room where dishes are washed, and the waitress just grabbed the phone from my hand to use it to pay at the machine, and I couldn’t even see if the amount was correct before she paid with my phone. AVOID AT ALL COST.

The food is okay. Like it’s nothing earth shattering or even good. The tomato/watermelon salad would have done better w a little acid and maybe some crunch or cheese to create a bit more complexity and flavor. The pumpkin salad was good- it actually had flavor and spice and was balanced by the buttermilk dressing. The elote was also good but it’s hard to mess up. The sweet potato and mushroom tacos were extremely boring. The sweet potatoes could have been pureed to make it easier to eat and again needed some mole or something to make them interesting. Also tried the mushroom quesadilla which was really basic. Could have been paired with some fresh salsa or something again to provide some acid to balance the heaviness of the cheese. Overall, you are paying a lot of money to see the ocean and eat subpar food. The cocktails and staff were great. Creative drinks and friendly and attentive staff.

We had a good dinner at Tacos and Tequila! The online reviews are a bit mixed… we thought it was pretty good. Our waitress was decent, although she did disappear at times (it wasn’t crowded, we could see the few tables she was serving). The prices are expensive for the value here, $20+ for cocktails… when you add the island’s 17.5% taxes at restaurants, a $200 tab happens quickly. (PS the suggested tips are based on the inflated “after taxes” bill amount… watch out for that!). The octopus ceviche was decent, a bit fishy (pretty common in PR for seafood). The chips served with it were good. We had the seared tuna in green mole next… that was better! The gastro star of the nice was our last dish, the chicken tinga tacos. We agreed we should have started there! LOL Tacos and Tequila is located in a posh hotel, worth the visit to walk around. A good meal, we recommend it…

Great spot in the Condado Vanderbilt hotel. We sat outside and enjoyed the ocean views until it was dark. The food was fresh and delicious. The sangria and margarita were tasty. We got the guacamole and two tacos each (you can choose any type of tacos for your meal) and shared dessert. Perfect amount of food for two.
