Taverna is a warm and inviting neighborhood restaurant that offers a truly Italian experience without having to leave Texas. Our Italian chefs strive to create the perfect menu using seasonal ingredients for their surprising entrees; every day we present a variety of northern Italian delights from simple comforts such as pan seared sea bass to delicate pasta and fabulous risotto.

Risotto is indeed our flagship dish. We only use Carnaroli rice – the “king of the rice”; thanks to its particular characteristics and firm texture the Carnaroli grain maintains its shape during the slow cooking required for a perfect and creamy risotto. Our broad offering includes truffle oil and Parmigiano risotto, bay scallops with home made pesto and an inspired Vin Santo risotto with asparagus and prosciutto.

                                                                                                We celebrated a birthday at Taverna Monday night. The staff was very accommodating and polite, and our waiter, Forrest, was professional and friendly. The restaurant was packed on a Monday night, so it's obviously a popular place. I thought the food was good, not great, definitely not the most refined or authentic Italian food I've ever had, but everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. I had the arugula salad with pan seared salmon, which was tasty. The pasta dishes and the risotto were ok. My son really enjoyed his pizza. The focaccia starter is really just a round of pizza dough, not thick and bubbly real focaccia. Maybe they should change the name and call it a flatbread instead. The antipasti starter had a nice selection of meats and cheeses and was a generous portion for our group. The bathroom, which is unisex, looked a little rough. Needs a little fresh paint and TLC.

                                                                                                Waitress was great. Restaurant was freezing, loud and the food was very basic. Kind of expensive for the quality. The best thing we had was the free bread.

                                                                                                What a great experience we had at Taverna. I love Risotto and Taverna makes it in an amazing way. I always look forward to the Risotto special - which this time was seafood (including lobster) and a wonderful light tomato sauce! So special and so good. The other special - Lamb Chops - was equally good. Great wine list, always. But most importantly, the team working at the Legacy West location was fantastic. From the time we approached the door through our entire experience. Keep doing what you are doing - you are all amazing.

                                                                                                We have never been to this Taverna however, after this visit with an 8:30 reservation, I’m not sure I will be back. They ran out of cocktails, steak, and other food came out cold. I was not impressed at all. No manager, no server in sight for 15-20 min at a time. It’s like they were understaffed all around. I would have expected this to be a much better experience given where this restaurant sits.
