The novelty of tapas has worn a bit thin at this Los Gatos Teleferic. We were a party of 4 with everyone ordering mostly for themselves. The dishes were brought in a hodgepoge as if we were sharing everything. So 1 person got something they ordered and the rest of us sat and watched them eat. The food itself was mediocre - the empanadas were barely filled with the chicken mixture - mostly empty and a bit over done. Potatas bravas was buried in sauces and subsequently soggy when they should be crispy. My mini sushi tacos were delicious and my partner's octopus was perfect but overall the 4 of us spent $170 for lunch - and that's with no alcohol - with a built in $25 tip and it was pretty unsatisfying.

Many of the tapas dishes have an aioli sauce. Even the meatballs had a drizzle of cream on them. All unnecessary if the dish can stand on its own. The chef should trust that the flavors will carry on. I ordered two glasses of wine. The wine was from the more expensive wine list and the pour was half of what was at the table next to me. The wait staff was very good. They don't leave you wanting for anything for long. We all appreciated that. As is the case in most restaurants, when you are asked, "How is your meal?" it is a rhetorical question.

The food was great. The service was frustrating. Our waiter was rushing us and could have been more attentive. A bartender pitched in and brought my $40 glass of wine which he spilled half of on my daughter. He didn’t offer anything to make up for loss of wine, ruining her coat, staining her blouse and pants. The bill came and we were charged for everything. I told the manager who took off one glass of wine and the automatic 20% service charge/ tip which I found offensive. It wasn’t my waiters fault why would I punish him? Maybe be less greedy and don’t punch down on the help…low class move. The vibe was cool but a ton of kids in high chairs making a mess.
