An understated storefront hides a coveted skyline view—just one of the many ways you could underestimate this longtime cafe on Mount Baker’s main drag. The menu, the sign—even the name—are a bit of a throwback, but current owners Guy Devillier and David Hoefer took over in 2018 and keep things attuned to today. Carbonara packs more nuance than you might expect, the slightly crackly pizza’s better than it has to be, and the bar pours lambrusco and negroni. No wonder tables are loaded with a diversity of diners.

We went to That's Amore twice in the past 2 weeks, it's that good. The first time we didn't have a reservation, but were able to sit at their small (4 seat) bar and chat up the owner, Guy (who's a really nice Guy)! Our recent visit we were lucky to get a window seat, even though it's hard to see the view at night. There was a family birthday celebration at the table behind us, hence the "moderate" noise level. The servers are excellent. The food is consistently good. My friend's "fresh catch" was halibut on risotto, and while a generous portion, she thought it was a touch dry. I told our server that I couldn't decide on the Alfredo with chicken or the chicken parmesan, and she said I could have both! So they put my chicken parm on top of Alfredo; simply delicious. My only complain is that they have a $35 corkage fee; I'd rather it be $25, but next time I'll try one of their bottles. Highly recommended...but you do need a reservation!

That's Amore is a favorite place to go, knowing the food will be yummy, the staff wonderful, and the ambience comfortable. We had Pepperoni pizza and the Scallopini. Both were delicious! As usual we had the Tiramisu and Affogato for dessert. So good!

We have an absolutely wonderful evening at That's Amore. The food was excellent, and our server was wonderful. The view out of the back window was breathtaking. From the bruschetta, to the salad, to the pasta, to the tiramisu, we were blown away by each course. I had included a note in our reservation that it was my partner's birthday, and each staff member we saw at the restaurant wished her a happy birthday and made sure she had a great exercise. We will definitely come back the next time we have a special occasion to celebrate.

The food quality has declined in our last few visits. Still good but the details are lacking. Used to be the signature bread and butter would come out warm and the butter would be spreadable. Last few times the bread hasn’t been warm and the butter is hard, almost frozen. We love this restaurant and hope they go back to paying attention to the details that made them great.

The service was the very first thing that I noticed. As a server myself, I was blown away. The most excellent service I’ve ever received anywhere. I felt at home, and taken care of. Aside from that, MOST IMPORTANTLY the FOOD is the BEST. I immensely appreciate the amount of thought that goes into the specials of the day, and the menu itself. The flavors of everything I’ve tried are so well balanced, and you can taste and see the thoughtfulness is every single dish. I leave so incredibly satisfied. This is definitely, by far, my favorite Italian restaurant in Seattle, maybe ever. Without a doubt, I’ll be back.

We always enjoyed our meals here. It was a nice dinner on a Saturday evening. We loved the fall menu everything was delicious.

I ordered the grilled pear salad and chicken scallopini and my friend ordered cauliflower soup and chicken marsala. Everything was delicious and our server was very helpful in choosing the right wine and attentive throughout the meal. This restaurant is a neighborhood gem.

Small and intimate setting with care put into everything. The food was amazing! One of our group members commented that the lasagna was the best he had ever eaten. Daily special that night was Halibut with a horseradish cream sauce and mushroom risotto. It was excellent. Wine list wasn't huge but had really great choices. Had a Sangiovese from a Washington vineyard that the entire table loved. The Sangiovese paired extremely well with the wild boar bolognese I had ordered. 10/10 would recommend.
