We’re a small and energetic restaurant on the corner of Adelaide and Water St. in the heart of downtown St. John’s. We carry a wide selection of East Coast Oysters and our menu focuses on seafood + fun, vibrant small plates. We have a rotating selection of local craft beer and wines and an ever evolving cocktail list. Some call us loud, but we prefer lively! TripAdvisor's 'Certificate of Excellence', "Where to Eat in Canada" x 4, and voted St. John's Top Seafood restaurant!

Our reservation policy has changed in order to support the best possible customer experience. We take 5pm reservations for seating's of 2-4 people, and two larger groups of 5+ Sunday through Saturday. We accept walk-ins and keep a wait list each night, so if we cannot accommodate your desired booking time after 5pm, you are welcome to come down and see us!

    The Adelaide Oyster House did not disappoint! The food was outstanding. It was so fresh, flavourful, and presented beautifully. The staff were engaging and friendly, the ambience was warm and hip. I absolutely loved the 90s alternative music playlist. Our only issue was that the music was a bit too loud for our taste; it was hard at times for us to hear each other in conversation. That said, I fully recognize, that I am in my 40s and my younger self would have likely loved the louder vibe. I highly recommend this restaurant. We had an amazing night out! Thank you xo

    my favorite place to eat out in the city!!!! everything I've tried from the menu I've loved, they introduced me to oysters, I've been back 3 times in less than a month to get more! I was able to sit at the bar and watch the process of shucking the oysters, the staff are so friendly and enthusiastic!

    The food and service were excellent. The restaurant has a great vibe and energy, and while the ambient music adds to the vibe, it is fairly loud. This may not be the place for those looking for quiet dinner conversation.

    Very unique cocktail selection. I had the Porchjni Fizz which is made with mushroom infused vodka, as well as the Pizza Negroni. Both were spectacular. All the food was incredible, my favourite being the pork belly dumplings. Great ambience, and staff were polite and attentive.

    This has been a favourite restaurant of ours since it has opened. Only disappointment lately is with the red wine selection. They always used to have an Italian red wine by the glass and it is missed. Nova Scotia red and Bread & Butter cab sav are no replacements. Please bring back an Italian red by the glass, the Tommasi Ripasso was great or a French Cote du Rhone would also be appreciated!

    Kelsey was professional, engaging, courteous, knew her menu, perfect suggestions (except the overcooked churos) and we had a wonderful evening. The brigade was efficient and fast, p’ace was buzzing for a Monday night and we never had to wait for anything. Thanks and see you again next trip!

    This place is absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is trendy and chic, perfect for a night out. The oysters were incredibly fresh and delicious – some of the best I’ve ever had. The service was excellent, and the overall vibe made it a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend for oyster lovers and anyone looking for a stylish spot to enjoy great food!

    Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere but unfortunately the pressure to give up the table for the next customer was constant. We were told by the staff 3-4 times that the table was reserved again. The restaurant allows 1.5hr for a two person reservation, 2hrs would be more appropriate. The staff was stressed about freeing up the table for the next booking. They moved us to the bar 10 mins before our 1.5hr was up. The “rush” really needed up being the focus of our evening.
