Excellent menu with interesting variety, and good wine pairings. Exceptional service. Quiet ambiance, elegant atmosphere. Have been here about 4 times, and will return.

For special occasions, The Above is an excellent choice. The food and service and atmosphere was a delightful way for my wife and I to celebrate out anniversary.

Food and atmosphere were wonderful. It was absurd that desert and coffees came but it was 20 mins later that the tea arrived, despite asking 3 different people where it was. When it arrived, it was lukewarm. We were told by one person it takes a long time to heat up the water. We weren't sure if they were serious or making a joke.

Alcove is our new favorite restaurant! From the excellent food to the serene elegant ambience - this is a venue that provides a superb dining experience. The low noise level and quiet music is a welcome factor for a great evening of conversation and fine dining. Additionally, the prices are reasonable for the upscale menu.

We went for the holiday with a prix fixe 5 course menu ... the restaurant was well staffed, but the kitchen obviously wasn't prepared well for service. Long delays between courses. You'd think with a prix fixe menu and obviously well trained wait staff that food would come out timely, they were waiting with us for the kitchen to be ready after each course was served. The 6pm seating barely got the 5th course to us before the 8:45 seating was arriving. Also, no attention was made when our reservation specially noted to be not just the holiday but for my husband's retirement... noted both on the reservation and in a personal phone call... yet know extra acknowledgment was made. The food was good, with the exception of the chunk of almost all fat, no meat (porkbelly) for the 2nd course. We both loved the sea bass... divine. Also, the beef tenderloin was exceptional. In the end, for the price, we were underwhelmed.

Crisp and attentive service don't make up for a stingy starter. In my case, the grilled baby octopus was tasty and nicely presented, but for $19, more than a few morsels of octopus seemed in order. There was a surplus of broccoli flowerets, however. My special entree was Chilean sea bass with shrimp and other tidbits. This was an excellent piece of seafood, but it was underseasoned. I thought it would be more in the Nobu fashion. I should have asked. At $62, the kitchen should not be shy.

You must try the octopus appetizer. So tender! I'll definitely return for the food in general, excellent service and good wine selection. The octopus alone justifies another visit to the Alcove. To the chef, management and waitstaff, keep up the good work.
