The latest venture from restauranteur Chris Himmel and Executive Chef Robert Sisca, The Banks delivers inspired interpretations of coastal favorites and classic steak dishes in an elegant two-story space in the heart of Boston's Back Bay. Seafood, steaks, and strong cocktails are served against a backdrop of floor-to-ceiling windows, a warm and inviting fireplace, a working wine room, and open kitchen—making this the perfect place to celebrate, indulge, and enjoy New England classics like you’ve never had them before.     First time here and my wife and I have found our new favorite Boston restaurant. We really enjoyed the mussels, salmon, and lobster ravioli. Service was excellent as well. We will be back!

    Have eaten here numerous times and each time is little less impressive. Nicoise salad was dripping with an inappropriate dressing and had very small piece of tuna for the $32 lunchtime price. Nothing came with it. Any bread - only jalapeno cornbread or sourdough toast - had to be ordered and was charged for. Their weekend lunch menu used to be broader.

    Unfortunately I found inconsistent service and attention to detail, food same way, some under and some over salted. However the restaurant itself was nice with good ambience. Convenient to get to from orange line. But probably would not go back.

    our dinner was fantastic last night. Xavier , our waiter, was a wonderful representative for your restaurant He had a wonderful assistant as well to change out plates silver etc. We shared a salad which was divided in the kitchen and was larger than expected. Wine pour was generous too. Great meal and a reason to return . Unfortunately , the party next to us was very loud but they were having a great time with each other and enjoying your excellent food .

    Visited The Banks with colleagues for a work dinner and was pleased with the full experience - from host stand all the way through meal service. Host was accommodating our group asking to not be seated near the door on a cold night, server was attentive (albeit busy with many tables), and food runners were prompt and accurate. Food was delicious across the board - from soups to appetizers to mains - but the portion sizes were a little light relative to the cost. Not unreasonable for a special occasion or work event. Would gladly recommend and visit again.

    We went 2 times over the course of three days while we were in Boston for an event. Possibly one of the best mussel appetizers we’ve ever eaten. Quality of the food was excellent. The Spanish octopus was delicious. Steak cooked to perfection on both occasions. Staff were friendly and service was also great. Joe the manager was super friendly and engaged in a nice conversation with us. Don’t skip dessert. The crème brûlée was as good as possible without any part burnt. It was perfectly caramelized. Definitely worth going to. We’ll happily return on our next visit to Boston.

    Six of us went to the Banks on Saturday night and the view at our table was terrific on the second floor. Both Joe’s checked on us and made sure that everything was great. Can’t wait to go back.
