Overall goof experience on a Sunday. Could have done with some more protein on the plate in terms of beef or chicken. That said, the quality of the meat is reflected in the price. Personally I could have ate the 'two person' option to myself in terms of meat. The portion of chicken was also questionable, not sure if two drumsticks is the way to go on a roast...Veggies and sides were nice, roasted potatoes could be better (But that's down to personal taste). Loved the grilled cabbage and parsnip mash, but there again portions could be better...But that's coming form a 6ft4 man who weighs 15 stone, so maybe the portions are actually adequate. Regardless, the quality of the beef was outstanding and when you actually look at the price to quality/quantity ratio, it is very reasonable. I was disappointed in buttermilk chicken, I would have thought the brother would have done better on that, but he wasn't chefifng that day so maybe that had something to do with it. The batter was slightly overcooked, the chicken fillet was of good quality but they need to work on that batter and seasoning. The batter to chicken fillet ration is off, need to revise. Next to no seasoning...I had more hopes for the scotch bonnet jam, could feel the spice but couldn't taste the very distinct scotch bonnet taste. That said, real scotch bonnets are actually hard to find these days...Oysters were outstanding! Overall, do I recommend the spot on a Sunday? Yes I do. I'd give it an 7.5/10, would have given it a 9/10 if the portions were robust.
