The Cape Restaurant & Beach Bar is a coastal neighborhood restaurant that offers New American Coastal cuisine.
Situated in the heart of Avalon, the restaurant derives decor inspiration from various beach locations around the world, where diners often comment on feeling as though they have escaped to places like Los Angeles, Miami and Cape Town upon entry. Popular dishes like the Tuna Tataki, Red Butter Curry Halibut and Ostrich Bolognese showcase Yebo's unique and boldly flavorful twist on global dishes.

Open Mondays through Sundays, guests can dine outside on the rooftop patio with views spanning down the entire Avalon boulevard or inside the main dining room surrounded by surf boards, textured pillows and hanging greenery; all designed to transport guests to a chic beach bungalow.

Food was excellent, service was great but seating was extremely poor. Cold windy day and maybe 5 tables were occupied when we arrived. We were offered two choices of tables, one between two couples where a persons chair was touching a chair we would have used or, the table by the hostess stand. We took the table by the hostess stand to have room to sit. Every time the door was open, it was like a winter wind blowing in so trying to enjoy a nice meal was not as enjoyable as we would have liked. It was for a special occasion which was stated on the reservation but of the 20 or so unoccupied tables beyond the entry door, none were offered up. When we mentioned the cold air, again, we were offered another table up under someone else. Seemed to be plenty of wait staff so not sure why. Again, the salmon & halibut entrées were delicious, service was great but seating was terrible, especially when the restaurant was wide open. For this reason, would not return.

Always a good experience at The Cape. The Sosatie with Basmati rice was excellent.

We had a great after Valentine’s Day Valentine’s Day dinner. Atmosphere was great and food was amazing as usual.

Thankfully the food was wonderful and delicious. The service however was very poor. Despite having a reservation, we waited for 30 min to be seated. The bar staff ignored us while we were waiting and took a long time to serve us. When we were seated, the server greeted us but then promptly forgot about us for a full 30 min. We had to wave her down and she seemed surprised that we were her table. This is my second visit and had a very similar experience with service the first time as well. Will not return which is a shame, as the food was good.

We always have fun here! They are generally decorated to celebrate something. Right now it’s an Apres Ski theme. Very cozy! Last night the service, food and drink were all excellent. I love the mussels and the fried seafood appetizer. Great night!
