At the Cartford Inn, we offer a brand of hospitality that is truly unique, hallmarked by an award-winning restaurant, boutique hotel, delicatessen and art gallery. Our location is enviable, with guests able to enjoy panoramic views of the Ribble Valley and Fylde countryside whilst dining. Our décor is quirky and eclectic, in keeping with our building’s 17th century heritage, but with a modernist twist.

Of course the main attraction is our 2-Rosette winning, Michelin recommended restaurant. Run by head chef Chris Bury, we offer the finest quality food without the fuss, in an atmosphere that is warm and unpretentious. Expect a discernible French influence, evidenced by our renowned French onion soup – a dish that is well worth a visit in its own right.

A surprising average experience today - definitely below our expectations and not the usual standard so maybe just an off day French onion soup as a starter was excellent as always , partner had the suet pudding and enjoyed as always does but unfortunately I had the roast beef Sunday lunch . The 3 tables around us who had all had the roast beef complained - I was then wishing I had ordered something else and to my dismay when I was served the dish I too was very disappointed ☹️ beef was ok but ate very little of the rest and was glad I had chosen to have such a filling starter or would have left hungry for sure . I did mention my feelings of the dish to the staff when asked - who no doubt by this stage were feeling quite uncomfortable as 4 diners had commented on the dish . Disappointing as we had travelled a fair distance and have such good previous experiences of dining at the Cartford when we lived closer . Not likely to return in a rush nor recommend .

We went for the Friday Chippy Tea. Our food was fabulous. Perfect pudding, delicious fish and amazing chips. The pudding came with an extra little pot of gravy, just what a northerner needs 😉 Couldn’t fault anything. We were however on a tab,e in an area farthest from the fire and were initially all on our own, so felt a bit away from the real body of the pub, but that wasn’t so bad. Service was very good, didn’t have to wait long, and staff were friendly, polite and courteous.

Fantastic dining experience at The Cartford Inn for my partners birthday. The food was amazing, fillet steak cooked to perfection. The service was perfect, friendly yet professional. Would definitely recommend

Perfect as always. Had fish pie which was Devine and partner had chicken and thyme sandwich. Always spot on

Such a gorgeous environment for a ‘cosy Christmas-time’ evening out for my husband’s birthday - roaring log fires, twinkly lights and live music which was exactly the right volume level … Menu choice, quality of food and service all exceptional - and the Albarhino wine was very moreish! We loved it, thank you.

This is a top class restaurant and the food is to die for. My wife had the best fillet steak cooked to perfection she had had in many a long year. There is no better place to eat and enjoy the atmosphere in the north west UK. Very highly recommended.
