At the Cartford Inn, we offer a brand of hospitality that is truly unique, hallmarked by an award-winning restaurant, boutique hotel, delicatessen and art gallery. Our location is enviable, with guests able to enjoy panoramic views of the Ribble Valley and Fylde countryside whilst dining. Our décor is quirky and eclectic, in keeping with our building’s 17th century heritage, but with a modernist twist.

Of course the main attraction is our 2-Rosette winning, Michelin recommended restaurant. Run by head chef Chris Bury, we offer the finest quality food without the fuss, in an atmosphere that is warm and unpretentious. Expect a discernible French influence, evidenced by our renowned French onion soup – a dish that is well worth a visit in its own right.

    A return visit to the Cartford and they continue to excel. Welcoming, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Excellent food and drinks with a wide selection of good wines and a lovely, rural ambiance. I look forward to going back again.

    Absolutely loved The Cartford Inn. Loved everything about it, great staff, food was perfect , nice atmosphere a great place to go with our friends. We will definitely be back!

    We had an excellent Sunday lunch. The food was fresh and cooked well (boat beef and pork roasts) whilst the Salmon Linguine special was superb and full of flavour. Service was attentive and this was pub cuisine at it's best. We look forward to returning

    Excellent food and very helpful with my father in law who is in a wheelchair. Very different to when I last went pre COVID very much improved and will definitely return.

    Cartford Inn with friends was not a disappointment and we will be back . Just a couple of suggestions that would have made a difference.. Starter Prawns in Whiskey..the prawns were too small appreciate the flavour Main course..Hake was excellent apart from the very small amount of cabbage with it . Also we did feel a little rushed time wise between courses.

    Lovely food and ambience as always. Pork belly was a bit fatty and mussels were gritty. Ribs and steak were delicious.

    Food disappointing, cold food, and roast beef tough and gristly. Roast potatoes had been deep fried, therefore no caramelisation little taste. Steak pudding stringy meat, and very thick stodgy suet pastry. Unpalatable. So sad, as staff were lovely, friendly and professional. Thank you. Sadly, food not up to their usual standard. A busy popular place like this needs to maintain its reputation.

    A surprising average experience today - definitely below our expectations and not the usual standard so maybe just an off day French onion soup as a starter was excellent as always , partner had the suet pudding and enjoyed as always does but unfortunately I had the roast beef Sunday lunch . The 3 tables around us who had all had the roast beef complained - I was then wishing I had ordered something else and to my dismay when I was served the dish I too was very disappointed ☹️ beef was ok but ate very little of the rest and was glad I had chosen to have such a filling starter or would have left hungry for sure . I did mention my feelings of the dish to the staff when asked - who no doubt by this stage were feeling quite uncomfortable as 4 diners had commented on the dish . Disappointing as we had travelled a fair distance and have such good previous experiences of dining at the Cartford when we lived closer . Not likely to return in a rush nor recommend .
