The Catbird Seat is an intimate, chef-driven restaurant and culinary incubator that provides chefs a creative outlet in an interactive and open kitchen setting. With just 20 seats arranged around a U-shaped counter, guests are offered a front-row view of the chefs at work, crafting a 10-12 course tasting menu that evolves with the seasons.

Currently led by Chefs Tiffani Ortiz and Andy Doubrava, the menu features a dynamic selection of dishes that emphasize sustainability and innovation. Drawing on ingredients preserved from past seasons, foraged finds, and items from their larder, Ortiz and Doubrava showcase their commitment to creativity, resourcefulness, and a modern approach to sustainable cooking.

Since its opening, The Catbird Seat has received numerous accolades, including recognition as one of GQ Magazine’s Best New Restaurants, Bon Appetit’s Best New Restaurants, Wine Enthusiast’s Top 100 Wine Restaurants, and Opinionated About Dining’s Top 100 North American Restaurants.

Van de OpenTable-redactie: When it opened 2011, Strategic Hospitality’s flagship tasting restaurant kicked off a new era of fine dining in Nashville. In addition to racking up accolades from GQ and Bon Appétit, Catbird Seat has been an incubator for some of the city’s top chefs. Today, Tiffani Ortiz and Andy Doubrava command the open, counter-style kitchen, turning out innovative New American tasting menus that can stretch to 18 courses of dishes like a walnut cookie filled with chicken liver mousse and berry preserves.

My favorite restaurant in Tennessee did not disappoint (this was my 4th visit). Amazing food and watching it being plated before your eyes with explanation of each course by the chef elevated the experience.

Absolutely fantastic. Felt intimate, the attention to detail was superb. Wine pairings were spot on and enhanced the courses, highly recommend. Worth every penny

It was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had! We absolutely loved the staff, the food was amazing and ambiance was great. Definitely recommend this for 2 people looking for an amazing intimate dinner.

Music was way too loud. We wanted to know something about the food we were being served, but we couldn’t fully hear what the servers were saying. Wanted to talk to the cooks, but couldn’t make out what they were saying. Would have possibly enjoyed the experience better if I knew what I was eating. Ruined our anniversary experience.

Amazing food, service and vibe! We are locals and no strangers to a tasting/multiple course menus. This scene is very popular in Denver, CO area too. TCS stacks up well against Michelin ⭐️ restaurants we have visited. Mad kudos! Well done, TCS! PS We also enjoy a simple big juicy hamburger too but we’re “foodies” at heart! 😋

We had an incredible experience. The food was wonderfully inventive, all inspired by seasonal foods, which I really appreciate being local. The menu was so interesting and the wine pairings were absolutely perfect. All the chefs were all so kind, introducing themselves, chatting for a moment between bringing us plates. The over all atmosphere was so nice and the night worked like a well oiled machine. Also, we tried our first oysters here! They were delicious and unexpected. It was one of the best parts of the night but my absolute favorite dish was the blackberry and potato served in ice cream. It was everything. I had to close my eyes and savor it. I will never forget it. Chef’s kiss! Wonderful evening! Highly recommend to my foodies and anyone who is open to trying new and interesting things!

From walking in to leaving this was a special experience. The staff was incredibly attentive and the food was amazing.

Great experience!! It was a birthday dinner for a friend and we had an awesome time. Will be back in the Spring to try the new menu options!!

First time. The dishes were amazing. So much flavor. The meal lasted 2+ hours and seemed like 10 minutes. The food and prep were the show. Just an excellent experience. Definitely worth doing.
