The Cavendish Arms is a 450 year old Coaching inn set in the heart of Cartmel. With Simon Rogan and his famous Lenclume restaurant we have some very high standards to maintain. Our food is fresh and sourced locally to ensure the freshest ingredients are on your plate at all times. Our menu changes often and is always being developed by our very talented Head Chef and his team. Along with a great food offering, we are challenging boundaries with our selection of 25 gins, 10 whiskeys and many more superior sprits, we always try to have an alternative rather than using main stream brands behind the bar, ensuring our guests receive the best possible value for money we can provide whilst experiencing a better than expected product. In short our aim is to make sure you leave having had a memorable time and be wearing a huge smile.

The best meal my partner and I have had in a long time. The sea bass was beautiful and the local beers were great too.

Lovely pub with a great atmosphere, disappointed by the food we ordered, was an average at best steak and ale pie and chips were on the anemic side. All the other food we saw going past looked great, think we just made a poor menu choice

We had a great lunch experience, friendly wlecome, great selection and quality of drinks, quick but unrushed service and fantastic quailty and portioned sunday lunch.. Sticky toffee pudding desert was fantastic!! Can highly recommend and was enjoyed by all 4 people in our grouo

Many choices for a Sunday lunch Interesting wine list & real ale selection Reasonable prices Rapid service and friendly attitude from all staff Will definitely recommend to friends and hopefully will visit again in the near future

The food and service were brilliant even on a very busy Saturday night in February! I had the cod fish and its was delicious. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend eating here.

Lovely, carefully made food. My homemade chicken Kiev was beautiful and filling. There were several breakfasts were great.
