The Durham Ox is a family owned traditional village Inn offering friendly and efficient service; showcasing the best of local produce in our menu, as well as stocking an extensive range of wines and cask ales. An award winning traditional pub complete with flag stone floors, exposed beams, oak panelling and roaring fires in winter.
(We have dog friendly tables, but these are limited so please do call us to secure one if your dog is dining with us.)
As well as our extensive restaurant areas, The Durham Ox has several spaces for Private Dining to celebrate any occasion and can seat between 10-85 guests for a formal or informal dinner. For those wishing for over-night accommodation there are five converted farm cottages that provide a peaceful and charming place to stay, the converted Studio Suite located above the pub and a self catered cottage in the village, Ivy Cottage that sleeps up to 6 people.

Private party faciliteiten
We have a first floor Private Dining Suite with dining room and sitting room, which can be reserved exclusively for any occasion. Our Private Dining Suite seats up to 22 for a formal sit-down meal. We also have the Ox Barn available from 25 to 80 guests for weddings, dinners, parties, and much more..please contact us if you would like more details.

We are situated in the historic village of Crayke, less than 30 minutes from York City Centre. Nearest airports are Teeside or Leeds and we are 90 minutes from Manchester. The nearest railway stations are York or Thirsk. There is a good Bus service from Easingwold to York.

Eten erg goed, maar akoestiek niet zo heel goed. Volgende keer zullen we er weer gaan eten, maar een tafel achteraf vragen.

All ok, but please refrain from adding the service charge. It’s embarrassing (for yourselves) when asking for it to be removed.

Absolutely Fabulous Highly recommend the seafood sharing platter but you need to be hungry. Staff were amazing despite being so busy. Really good value for money compared to a famous name we’ve dined at recently too

Outstanding in every respect. Located in a lovely spot, with ample parking spaces at the back of the pub. Amazing vibe inside and very cheerful servers who made us feel welcome. Incredible food and a wonderful wine list. We will return.

Highly recommend dining at the Durham Ox at Crayke. Staff were very welcoming, service was professional, atmosphere was warm and comfortable and the food was well presented and tasted great. Good choice of dishes and we'll prepared. Would definitely come back for a special occasion. A lovely place to come for a treat
