   The food here is absolutely amazing and worth the price! I had the steak au poivre, and my family had the duck confit and skirt steak with chimichurri. We also had escargot as an appetizer which was so delicious as well. The down side was because we sat outside it was hard to get a hold of the waiters sometimes. Also the napoleon dessert we had at the end tasted good but the puff pastry was so tough that we had to us a steak knife to cut it. When we mentioned this to the staff they didn’t really want to do anything, or acted like it was normal. Other than that, I would definitely come back for the food and just skip dessert.

   We have been regular diners for many years to this establishment before it became the flying toad. I like how they adapted to Covid and like the new outdoor dining space. The service staff needs better training and they need a dedicated greeter. They take a lot of chances on unusual food combinations and I’m not a fan. I prefer the traditional tried and true if I’m going to pay $30-45 for an entree.

   The food is phenomenal, I highly recommend it. This isn’t the place you go to if you’re looking for a quick dinner on the cheap, hit up a drive thru for that. This is fine dining located downtown Escondido where you take in the atmosphere and enjoy the whole experience. Treat yourself or your date and go enjoy The Flying Toad.

   Delicious meal. Had the brick chicken ~ so good. My hubby had a shepherd’s pie that was delicious. My friend had the short rib baked potato. She said it was AMAZING. We will be coming back 🎉👍🏻

   The food was amazing, it was presented well and it tasted great. They had large portions and reasonable pricing as well. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Great little spot right on Grand. Will go back again for sure.

   The food was very good. My husband had the Surf and Turf special, which was seved Fajita style. The steak was slightly overdone because it continued to cook on the plate. Other than that, all excellent. The kitchen was very slow, so service gets a lower mark.

    we were a party of 4.. food was delicious! had a great time. so nice during covid to have a delicious meal and not bar food! will be back for a sunday tasting dinner
