Visited The Fountain Room during brunch for my birthday. The hostess and our server were very friendly and caring. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. The Fountain Room is beautiful and has such a cozy ambiance. I can’t wait to visit again.

The experience was great once we got past the phalanx of indifferent “hosts” at the checkin desk. I thought this was a one off when the same thing happened the first time we went here last summer, but last night confirmed it. I can’t say if last night was the same group as out first time, but they acted the same. So what happened was we walked in to the place and went up to check in. I made an innocuous comment about how cold it was (we had walked for a few minutes after parking 2 blocks away) and the looks I got were as if I had grown a third eye. Is it so hard to be warm and welcoming, or if not, why not? There were three people, two women and a large man who “greeted” us. There was a bit of a mixup over about where we wanted to sit, but for some reason they spent a good 8-10 minutes trying to find a table, or something. (There were several booths available where we wanted to sit, by the way). Actually after we were seated in one of the booths our cheerful and friendly server Chelsea took wonderful care of us. She made it all worthwhile! A real gem. Our food was great - onion soup, prime rib, chopped salad, and the cocktails were great! As an aside, we are older (70 ish), and I hope that wasn’t the reason we were treated the way we were by these hosts. Something is wrong with the training of these people. I considered speaking to the manager about it, but didn’t want to ruin the evening. If you want return business of people with money to spend who enjoy eating out, please do better.

Beautiful restaurant. I wish we stayed downstairs to eat. Upstairs was nice but average and for the price I would expect the ambiance to be better.

Enjoyed the server, yet the service was very slow. Our table had a couple of filets, Tomahawk steak (special of day), and prime rib. All agree that the steaks were average at best. The restaurant has a great vibe, but the food doesn't match the ambiance. In hindsight, we should have tried something beyond the steak since it really isn't a steakhouse.

Came out for our anniversary. I requested a note and a bottle of sparkling rosé wine and they gave us both. Amazing service. Our waitress was extremely nice and friendly. Got multiple “happy anniversaries” from staff which made us feel welcome. Food was amazing. The Fountain Room made our anniversary dinner feel special. Would definitely come back again.
