With a total of five locations across Atlantic Canada, Gahan House has become an East Coast staple dedicated to creating memorable experiences. We get our name from John Gahan, a prominent merchant and importer of wines, teas, and groceries on Prince Edward Island in the 19th century. His former place of residence is now the location of the original Gahan House in Charlottetown, P.E. To share our award-winning ales with more of Atlantic Canada, we opened our doors and our taps in Halifax, N.S., Fredericton, Saint John, and Moncton, N.B

We began as a brewpub, and we stay true to our beginnings by having a brew system in-house, ensuring that the beer we serve is as fresh as possible. With a delicious menu, handcrafted ales, and fresh East Coast oysters in our welcoming Gahan atmosphere, we hope you feel right at home.

My husband and I came here before attending a concert. I have only ever been to Gahan House in PEI, well Halifax Gahan House you did not disappoint! The food was fantastic. We orders drinks and some appetizers. I especially LOVE the tuna tartare. We did find it a bit loud to be able to have a conversation but that’s only a minor thing. We will definitely be back!!

We had reservations for 15 people and 2 extra people Showed up . One staff was rude and told them they had to leave as there was no room. Our server was unaware of what was going on. One of the two that were told to leave left in tears this was a special celebration dinner for our friend who is getting married so it put a damper on the rest of the night as those two girls left and went home . There should have been a way to settle this with out them just being rudely asked to leave . Not sure I will return to your restaurant again

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant last night. The service was very poor. The server never checked on us after bringing the food or refilled my drink—something I really needed with my overly spicy curry. They also brought the wrong tea and dessert several times, and we had to wait a long time just to get the bill. The service was slow and unorganized.

We had to wait a long time for our food as it was the long weekend, lacrosse game and the last day of the tax free event. Totally expected and not a problem, however, when my food came it was over cooked, dry and cold. The rest of my party had lovely hot food. I guess my burger was made and kept on the side whilst the rest was being cooked. I was very disappointed but didn't comment as it was my son's birthday and didn't want to make a fuss. I was definitely disappointed. I have had the same before, and it was good. I just think that if you're making food for a table of people, you should all have the same experience. Our server was excellent, friendly, apologized repeatedly for the delay and very friendly. I don't think I would have had the same patience. Didn't get his name, young, blonde. Cannot recommend him highly enough. A definite asset

It was just OK, for me. I have had amazing meals here in the past, I don’t believe they were able to handle the pressure and the amount of diners through the door for a special occasion, perhaps. The music was quite loud, service was a bit haphazard and the food was not up to their previous standards. On a normal night, the food is an extremely good value for the price.

Ate here while staying in this area for our anniversary. Had the $30 per person dine around. The beet salad was very good, and the coconut chicken curry was very filling ,a little salty but still good.The service was great. Would eat here again when in Halifax.

We liked everything about or visit except for our table which was a small 2 person table floating in the middle of the floor, surrounded by booths and a very long table section which filled up with a party and left us feeling crowded and drowned out with noise. Ironically, our table was probably the only table I wouldn’t want to sit at in the whole place, it just seemed odd and random where it was. Other than that the food was great, our server was on point even though her section was busy and we enjoyed our visit and will definitely return.
