Rose Garden Tea Room is set within the historic Rose Garden, the Tea Room offers an elegant and memorable experience inspired by the tradition of English tea service with a distinctive California twist.

Any party with more than 6 guests MUST call to make their reservation or email tearoom@huntington.org.
Please do not divide your party into multiple reservations, as each Open Table reservation will be treated as individual and will not guarantee adjacent tables.

Please note that visiting the Rose Garden Tea Room requires purchasing admission to The Huntington. When planning to visit the Tea Room, please purchase a separate ticket to The Huntington for the same day as your Tea Room reservation. Tickets are available at huntington.org

On a Monday at 2:30, the service was good but the tea service (sweet and savory) food for $65 per person was truly not satisfactory . The dominant taste of the sandwiches was the bread, and not terribly tasty bread, as well as rather stale. The sandwich fillings were insipid, tasteless, without any real flavor, one indistinguishable from the next. We started with the soup of the day, if onion, which was heavy, the crème separating from the broth, and lacking in any subtlety. Neither of us took more than two spoonfuls and, happily, the server took it off the check. Did I mention how disappointing the food was? And alol for only $165 for two including tax and a 20 percent tip (my choice) for the server.

Beautiful location, lovely atmosphere, the best scones ever. A shame they do not serve real clotted cream for the scones instead of whipped cream. Also a shame that the reservation requires paid entry to the grounds, so your meal for two is actually $58 more expensive.

Overall excellent but would appreciate scones with no sugar on top. Tea menu should change seasonally for more variety.

Th food and service were good but given how far ahead I had to book the reservation and the additional cost to enter, I was a bit disappointed with where they sat us. It was more of a private dining room vs the main room or patio, it was minimal and nice but not what I would have chosen. I asked to move and was told the main room didn’t have any tables available. The food was excellent and I really loved our server! But it was a hassle to feel like I had to line up both reservations, pay to enter and then still struggle to find parking

The staff were so sweet and accommodating. Tea was lovely, with a beautiful view. We ordered some extras and under up having a lovely and filling lunch.

The service and atmosphere were outstanding but the food quality was disappointing, especially for the price. Their “Devonshire cream” is not authentic, it is just whipped butter. Desserts had a freezer taste.

Everything was exceptional. Very attentive service, delicious sandwiches, good pastries, the rose tea was so good we went to buy some in the shop, the lemon custard and marmalade were amazing. I go to tea all over LA and this is top 5. It lived up to the hype.
